Win over HJK worth at least £6m to Celtic

1408

Celtic will receive £1.65m from the Uefa revenue distribution system for participating in the Champions League play-off round against Helsingborgs.  Add to that around £1m gate money and the guarantee of at least three Europa League games, with Uefa distribution money, you can calculate the value of Wednesday’s win over HJK Helsinki as no less than £6m (all figures are net of vat).  Quite a prize for one game.

Compare this to the projected income from newco The Rangers, who claimed to have sold 25,000 season tickets.  If all sales were at full adult prices (£258 in vat), net income would be £5.375m.

Should Celtic overcome Helsingborgs and reach the Champions League group stage, the club will return to a remarkably strong financial footing.

  1. The stocky bricklayer, playing centre forward for Peterhead is giving Goian a torrid time.

    That must be it then.

The Mike Ashley thing is old hat but the inference to the huns becoming a feeder club for Newcastle was news to me.

So Ashley can flood the huns with Newcastle kids/reserves until sevco are eligible for europe.

Sevco as a feeder club. Hmmm something very satisfying about that. Humiliation complete or thereabouts.

The Huns dressage will be sublime when they try to explain their way out of this.

Supposedly all will be revealed now on bbc scot.

Italian Super Cup on just now, Juventus v Napoli, 0-1 to Napoli the now, decent game.

  4. There was a lot of pressure on Celtic for that last game. I thought we deserved to go over there with at least a 3 goal cushion but we still got the job done.

If we play the way we can against Helsingborgs then we should get through with a goal or 2 to spare IMO.

The good thing is, the pressure is off to an extent as we have the much needed Group Euro games, EL or CL.I am sure the players will do everything in their powers to get to the CL.

The money available in the CL is unbelievable, and it is shocking that we have been cheated out of these amounts for the last few years.

    Onwards and Upwards Glasgow Celtic

  5. To clarify: McAllister’s contract doesn’t actually cover both his job and football, he was offered a job by Peterhead owner when he signed the football deal. Packaged together it’s worth £900 per week.

He is not receiving side payments for plumbing.

Sorry I missed your posts. I had to go out for some shopping.

I think the MSM are on the one hand trying very hard to keep the fans of Sevco onside – buying the papers and listening to the shows/watching the TV – but on the other we have a whole section of the country in denial over what liquidation means. Continually people are referring to Rangers not The Rangers and moreover they are trying to tell us they were relegated when none of these things are true.

This is the plan – repeat a lie big enough and long enough and people will believe it.

    Shocking but entirely predictable.

I’m probably wrong but I think the rules permit an owner of one club to have a minimum stake in another.

just on radio scot now (Chris Mc). SFA permit Huns to take up to 9 Newcastle players .

Huns have to get rid of JJB first before deal goes thru.

  9. I have no interest at all in the Scottish third division

Never have, Too many people still see that wee Newco

team as R*ngers. A new mindset is required guys.

R*ngers really are gone for good…

It’s hard to assimilate that fact,

but it’s true . oh well, life goes on :-).

I see TC are doing a day trip to Sweden for £296.50

(How did they calculate that price !) are any CQN’er thinking

    +++++

Newcastle will be well chuffed with that, what with that Murray Park conveyor belt churning out a new Ronaldo and Messi every year.

Huns have to get rid of JJB first before deal goes thru

That is the key issue. JJB will have to be compensated by Green, otherwise court action will beckon at which point Ashley will walk away

  12. “We have watched that division [the SPL] and watched him all year. We’ve been very disappointed with the quality of the games, other than the occasional Rangers versus Celtic game. And even some of those have been poor, if I’m honest.“ (Alan Pardew)

I wonder how he will find Division 3? Good luck with that link up Alan.

  13. Next few years –

Celtic do well enough in Europe and others as well (in a pro rata way).

To the point that they are 2 Champs League places again for Scottish clubs.

Aberdeen then win the league with us a close second.

    Not the worst scenario….

    Sevco: 9 Newcastle players + ? orcs

They’re not Rangers. They’re not even Sevco anymore… we can just call them Newcastle reserves lol

  15. Mafia economics + voodo economics+ fraud & corruption +murderous bigotry ……this is the ragersssss of 2012 and what all the powers that be plus the presstitutes are doing all in their power to keep this travesty of a ‘football’ club traipsing around the country spreading their filth like a muckspreader operated by an insane tramp on acid.

According to Chris Mc on BBC the deal’s already done with JJB. Only technicalities to be sorted.

Sevco are now Newcastle’s third team with a Hun support. Marriage made in heaven.
