There appears to be nothing more than a desire to move-on behind Johan Mjallby’s decision to leave Celtic at the end of the season but it leaves the original four man coaching team of Neil Lennon, Alan Thompson, Mjallby and Garry Parker reduced down to two. The management team needs to be rebuilt.
Assistants do more than just put the cones out and get players go through their paces. They are an extra pair of eyes and ears, at the side of the field and in the dressing room. When they are most effective, they are a source of learning, bringing improved techniques and ideas into the club, forcing the manager to reconsider established practices.
Strip some of the greats of their productive partners and they proved to be prosaic underachievers; Cough without Taylor was a sorry sight. By contrast, Ferguson played the assistants’ game perfectly, swapping them every few years to enhance his stock with fresh flavour.
Alan Thompson was not directly replaced but irrespective of the speculation which constantly surrounds the club, a wind of change will blow through Lennoxtown this summer, filling the gaps in the original four man team.
If you’ve wondered about getting involved with some of the charity events surrounding the club there is a perfect opportunity coming up. The Foundation is having a badge day at the Dundee United game on Sunday 11 May. This is an important opportunity to anchor the ethos of the club to its roots by engaging thousands of Celtic fans in the simple act of buying a badge for charity.
All monies raised will go towards supporting those afflicted by homelessness in the Glasgow area. I volunteered to help on the day and offered to put the word around, over 100 bucketeers are needed. If you want to help, all you’ll need to do is turn up early for the game, wear a hi-vis vest and hold a bucket, but I can assure you, you’ll enjoy it. Email the foundation with your name and phone number: cfcfvolunteer@celticfc.co.uk .

Mighty Tim, That is a total disgrace, I hope you have left the Club know why you are not renewing. Absolutely heart-breaking to see great Tims like yourself getting such shabby treatment from the custodians of the Club.
A short piece from James Forrest on recent developments in our National Game..

Thanks for posting Bill Bragg’s piece on the Independence debate.

Anything that happened to the GB was all self inflicted, nothing to do with Celtic, ultras are not wanted at Celtic Park, casuals started that back In the day, same thing happened to them, they where not wanted, so keep Celtic out of it please.
Thanks bhoys for the kind words. I am gutted by the action of our club. I have been going to Celtic Park for 50 years and I am really struggling with this. The rage I am feeling at the moment is unbelievable but I will stand with my son and I will not go back. Very very sad day for me.
INCOMING
Leftclick/doc,
TD would be your man, he has all the inside info :oD)))))))
Doc,
Awe Naw posted about the next SFA AGM resolutions and I posted about ducks being lined up, and thats what me and everyone who wishes us success will be hoping for.
My advice is keep your season ticket money handy.
But there are other fundamental considerations that need to be addressed.
For me res 12 is first, get that dealt with, then take the others one at a time, cant fight every war on all fronts, slowly slowly catchy monkey.
Go get ‘im tiger!!!!
Mighty Tim. That is shocking but not surprising the Celtic Board know how to drive fans away surely your son is innocent until (and if he is found guilty).I would send a strongly worded letter to the club asking for an explanation. If they dont clarify the situation I would publish there reply for all Celtic fans to see as the saying goes there for the Grace of God go I . H.H.

Firstly, Celtic wanted an ultra section hence the GB being allocated their own section within the stadium.
Secondly, the Celtic casuals have absolutely no lineage to the GB.
To link the two is simply wrong.
TD and his regular anti Gb rant- he can turn any situation into a blame the GB sound bite. A remarkable skill, even if what he says is utter pash.
Tony Donnelly my son is not and never has been a member of the Green Brigade. The only reason he was in the area at this game was Celtic sold him 2 tickets (him giving Celtic more money) because I had our tickets in my wallet at work. It is Celtic who have ” found him guilty” not the judicial system so Celtic have brought themselves into this.
TD
The green brigade are wanted by the majority. The atmosphere they create especially on european nights is brilliant. Viva the GB!
MT
You making it out on the 10th?

Had to read your post three times to make sure I was reading it correctly.
An appalling decision by the club and someone should seriously get a rollicking for this ridiculous decision.
I really can’t believe it and totally support you not renewing your STs.
One of the most sickening abuses I’ve heard from one of our own by our own Club.
mighty tim- shocking bud sadly not surprising given that PL’s security cronies a,Hawthorne and a few others are ex senior cops, and not Tims either.
No need for the gang up you all know where I stand, no more oxygen on the GB subject, as for the resolution, every thing I said about that came to fruition, say what you like , you lot fecked it up an you know it.
Bamboo
I know how it works, so no more on them from me.
What’s really sad is that it’s taken the sorry tale of MT, one of our own, for some to realise how Celtic are dealing with situations like this.
His son is far from the first to have been dealt with in a similar manner by both the authorities and our club.
HT I will be there for a few hours as working the next morning but wanted to catch up with a few other you bhoys. I will be in town on Saturday night for a few beers with that notorious green brigader if you are about.
Mighty tim..,
Cant remember who but theres another blogger who gave up his season ticket because he does not want his children’s mugshots to be part of the national crime library, a very sensible and thought provoking action and one I must say I support. I expect more from the custodians of the club. The vilification of our support (plc customers) is an utter disgrace and the custodians appear to be fully behind it.
Its easy for clowns with no future to disregard the threat but anyone who can think beyond the “if your innocent whats the problem” stupidity it is a serious threat to liberty.
mighty tim
I would feel the same as you.
But whether you have the stomach for it or not, I’d question Celtic given the situation, and presumption of guilt. The ban is temporary and should be challenged, as have other bans, which were subsequently removed.
Anyone else hearing whispers bout the hun’s payroll?
MT
This Saturday?
WWC- Begging bowl out again?
mighty tim
Have you spoken to John Paul Taylor yet about your Bhoys situation ?
Bourne
It would be extremely unusual for Celtic to revoke the ban prior to the outcome of any ‘criminal’ proceedings.
SSB …..tommy wright manager of the year, lol.
Mt
shocked and horrified at the way you/ yours have been treated. Hope you let Lawell and every member of the board/management knowhow you feel.
What about this for an away kit?

I got my renewal pack today and I saw no mention of a team called Rangers or any other team for that matter except the one I support. Where are ‘rangers’ mentioned ?maybe my pack differs ?
wwc,
They need to go bust before the end of the season, its all part of the great architects plan
Paul67
I think it would be dishonest on the Club’s part for those Winds of Change to blow during the summer.
The correct path for the Club to take is to confirm the entire management team for next season during this period when season ticket renewals are being marketed.
Good news sells seats and I can’t think of a better boost to the current campaign than for the Club to confirm that, from the beginning of season 2014/2015, all hourly paid workers directly employed by Celtic will be paid at the Living Wage equivalent for each worker’s circumstances.
The subsequent positive exposure and admiring attention from non-footballing sources will more than compensate the Club for the minimal cost created.
Our Board Tories may splutter their cocktails at the thought but they should remember we are hosting Commonwealth Games XX soon. The world is on its way to Glasgow.
