Yesterday we discussed that title credentials “are established on plastic pitches and cold nights in places like Falkirk”. Celtic were far from polished but had enough in the tank to win a game in which they withstood a first half onslaught. The credentials are intact.
Martin O’Neill is not a miracle worker, but he knows how to set teams up in order to get results. Confidence, so lacking in the squad in recent weeks, is back in sufficient quantities to see them through challenging pressure.
Across his two tenures this season, Martin has taken charge of seven league games, in which Celtic have conceded only one goal – a penalty kick, awarded by VAR after an incident which passed without on-field concern. That might sound like working miracles, but it is just good old organisation.
When Kyrell Wilson skinned Kieran Tierney and rounded Kasper Schmeichel, he was rushed into the shot by Liam Scales, who arrived to prevent Falkirk taking the lead. Later, when Auston Trusty and Callum McGregor failed to control the ball, green and white shirts arrived on the scene mob-handed, forcing a rushed shot from Williams which Kasper saved. Both were goals prevented by plan.
There is an alternative history for Celtic this season which is even worse than it has been. Can you imagine where we would be had Benjamin Nygren not arrived in the summer? His goals and progressive play are the reason we are still in the title race. Yesterday’s effort was a perfect example of his ability to get into the right place.
He is the best finisher and the most-aware penalty box player we have available right now. A rose by another name is still a rose.

It seems inconceivable they wouldn’t.
IIRC that was why we signed big Viduka.
After we played against him in a European qualifier , our CH’s ( Stubbs IIRC) said they just couldn’t handle him – he was ragdolling them.
Viduka? There’s a reminder of the quality of strikers we once used to take for granted. To think we had him and Larsson playing together.

One of the most skillfull CF’s i have seen at Parkhead. I don’t think the football world saw the full Mark or Marko Viduka.
It is true he had his own demons, but I remember my mate going absolutely mental as Mark just sauntered about.
Lazy or just troubled?
But turn the clock back. Some things never seem to change. An angry player refusing to go back out for the second half. Discontent with the managerial set up and who can forget the payment or non payment controversy over his transfer from Zagreb.

Well played!
If we sign new players this month or none at all,I Think all of us Season Ticket Holders need to have a good look at ourselves as how these Celtic Board of directors have treated us these past few seasons, and we all know our grievances, Its time for all of the Celtic Supporters to really think about renewing our season tickets, this present Board has to be replaced,ASAP,
Good morning CQN
Another fine day to be a Celt
BRRB – good news on Big Jimmy.
Thank you.
Please say hello …
… from all us “chumps” (©️ Big Jimmy)
Callum Wilson on a ‘free transfer’ wont come cheap. He will be looking for a signing on fee, a high wage while negotiating a lengthy contract – that lot needs to be weighed and balanced given that he has no resale value at all.
If fully fit, he would be a great addition – but that’s a big if.
when we sign fit players they just end up long term injured so wilson would have no chance of playing any significant amount of games
Hope our new Manager come the Summer has had lots of telesales experience.

Look at that beaming smile.
She made his day.
What shall we do tomorrow, Mommy?
What do you want to do, Donny baby?
Get my face on Mount Rushmore
Or have an aircraft carrier named after me
Or put my profile on all nickels and dimes
Then quarters.
And my face on all 50 & 100 dollar bills
Then the 1, 5, 10 & 20 dollar bills.
Can I have big tanks going past the house on my birthday?
Speaking of house … White House doesn’t sound quite right.
I want it to be Trump House instead.
“Monday” doesn’t have the right ring to it.
Change in to Donday.
Simple enough change.

From Frabizio Romano:
EXCLUSIVE: Sunderland agree deal to sign Ivorian winger Jocelin Ta Bi, here we go!
Deal done for £3.5m fee, five year contract to the player as it’s all agreed.
Celtic had verbal agreement in place but #SAFC hijack the move.
So Celtic have ‘enquired’ about Callum Wilson? A wee squirrel in the papers to distract us from another masterclass in failure from the world’s weakest CEO (man). There’s as much chance of Elvis conducting the next Paradise Windfall draw as us signing Callum Wilson.
If we sign anyone at all it will be after Hearts pump us and the league is gone. That’s typical of this clown show plc Board.
£850K a year to be the world’s shittest CEO is good going. That old school tie can take you a long way.
MON was honest.
He’s unprepared for the window as he wasn’t expecting to be here.
We should have a recruitment structure regardless of who’s running the team. Proper analytics. Then let the manager choose.
Also, he said that any signings can’t play in the Scottish Cup or Europa.
I’ll be surprised if anything happens over the next week. I see one alleged target is going to Sunderland.
We’ll miss out on many more because we don’t have a recruitment strategy and Nicholson isn’t fit for purpose.
Genuinely pissed right off with that shower of charlatans ruining (not a typo) our club.
Callum Wilson was mooted on here a while back when it was obvious his time at West Ham was over.
Good to see our scouts read CQN.
