In several of Martin O’Neill’s 11 games in charge this season Celtic have been poor, the recent outing at Falkirk a case in point. What’s clear, though, is Martin’s winning mindset. Even when under pressure (late against Dundee) or facing several great chances (Falkirk), there was a high degree of confidence Celtic would get the job done.
In all honesty, the Europa League seems like a distraction this week. The Scottish Premiership is all important and a visit to Edinburgh on Sunday weighs heavy on the mind. That will not be how Martin O’Neill sees things, though. That mindset will not allow anything other than the execution of a plan to win the game. His first 11 will start the Europa League game on Thursday and – successful or not – they will take the field with confidence they can deliver.
You and I have watched too many Celtic away games in Europe to be too optimistic about the outcome. Still, some of us have many reasons to never underestimate Martin O’Neill.

Here’s your striker

Shakhtar have no chance of preventing rangers reaching CL direct. They played 5 teams who failed to qualify for knockouts. Weird Aberdeen played 5 in top 8. It really is luck of draw sometimes. Last year we had it to be fair.
Also Copenhagen unlikely to prevent rangers reaching CL proper next season. They are 5th in Denmark 12 points behind leaders. They also would need at least 3 coeff points.
It really is Olympiakos to win or draw tonight then win in Amsterdam. Or Ferencvaros to reach semi of Europa or Spurs or Leverkusen or Monaco or Marseille’s or Athletico or Juventus to win CL and not qualify from domestic league. Or us or Hearts to win SPFL to win the league.
Reality it is well worth the rangers new owners to complete Rodgers legacy by ensuring they get to CL proper next season and gambling. They have a far bigger prize to win than we do with 3 or 4 qualifying rounds if we win the league.

Thanks for the reply
I still like Brendan 2 as he brough silverware, which is my main concern.
Equally I dont think Brendan would lose the LC cup or drop 12 points on Nov, but we will never know.
Ange knew he was going and never told the support, walking around Hampden face tripping him, just won a Cup, he knew he was off probably well before then and did not front up with the support, that’s on his conscience but money is obviously all that matters, we were never under Lawwell, like everyone else he was an employee who earned arond 20million in his time at Celtic, unbelievable for a CEO at a small turnover company, he never scored a goal or made a tackle this is where businessmen get mixed up with how important they are, he wasn’t and his legacy is what we see now, a disaster area of a Football Club.
So no-one will be in to help us against Hertz in a must-win game. After the utter shit show these clowns have presided over this season that’s the least they owed us.
Total duds, will be condemned by Celtic history for the rest of time.
Squirrel Time☝️
Could not make that up.Read about Hogh and Norwich, thought,I will post that, went to read back, and Borg67 had posted they were beating City, put it on,and he had scored the two goals.
Might bump his price. We must be in for him, surely somebody at Celtic knows of this.
Norwich in a real relegation battle, with ex Hun manager. What a signing that would be.
Dessybhoy,
Not strike you that Ange was the same as Brendan.Sickened.?
Maswanise, eh. So obvious. Welsh was a stand out with Well, swap plus a bit of cash, what could be easier than that
kinglubo
Burnley,
Brendan’s legacy????.Are you mentally retarded?Serious question. If not you are the biggest bullshitter on here.
Lugo,
Even sweeter deal,Kenny and Welsh.
This is one of the worst lines I’ve ever read on here
Genuinely think the poster isn’t right in the head
“Reality it is well worth the rangers new owners to complete Rodgers legacy by ensuring they get to CL proper next season and gambling”
STENHOY from earlier. If the board don’t care, why should we, ffs man. We LOVE Celtic, they dont.
My only hope , slight I know, is that Martin and DD have a connection, Martin should be asking / begging him to apply some heat on these tosspots running our club.
kingLUBO
Bodo ripping Citeh a new one.
TB
Think Rodgers would have stayed if he was backed, Ange was always off somewhere as he wanted a shot at the biggest league possible, what concerns me is how we entice any Manager to come and work at Celtic under the structure we have, we will be back at Neil Lennon etc.

No he is just a bag of shit
Bodo 3 1 up Rodri just red carded.

of all the strikers we have been linked with. Tomas Cvancara is the least inspirational. However MON signing and he has similarities to Chris Sutton – maybe Maswanise beside him!
Tomas Cvancara Is 1.90 metres
Ex Vale striker Lorent Tolaj is apparently on our watch list- hope that’s all we’re doing ‘ although he does know where the net is

Are we trying to rewrite CQN.?
Brendan Rodgers wasn’t universally accepted on here.
Even posters such as myself who wanted Brendan back acknowledged that the tippy tappy football was boring and lacked conviction.
Do we forget we discussed that fans were leaving in droves circa the 75 minute mark due to boring predictability.
St Stives was one of the only ones that defended the style although often commenting on empty seats and fans leaving early.
Subsequent events since Brendan left the building do not change the negativity on the blog during his last few months.
He got slaughtered after the Kiaret Almaty fiasco.
It seems he never had as many fans in real time as he seems to have now.
HH.
Ange did great for us. Then, when we needed to strengthen to improve in the Champions League, the bad luck hit us (as it always does when it’s time to strengthen from a position of strength) and we ended up weaker instead and – completely unwelcome – got caught up in an old firm title race!
If only we could somehow rid ourselves of that dashed rotten bad luck……
He had us playing boring and outdated football and took us from a fantastic enjoyable experience into brutal turgid stuff.
—————–
utter rubbish.
112 league goals, highest ever goal difference, 7 players in double fugires, wins in europe,
boring my arse, playing keep ball is a skill set on its own.
i was never bored.

Rodgers Legacy??
That’s not so B78
You are so laser focus on his part
You omit those holding the gun !!
You also know he is the 3rd manager to get repelled when asking for money to build from a position of strength.
Lets be honest we have not been functioning as a dynamic board since PL went 1st time, then Dom Mackay,Bankier et al in boardroom musical chairs, all the while getting weaker quality execs.
Def no Quinn or Sheahy in there
Then we have to top down pressure
Dermot Desmond messed(……)up° reappointed.
°fill your own expletive).
He over ruled the Board
You can do that with his holding
It left a depth charge
DD knew this, his tantrum prose reads it f’d up,i f’d up,
You know yourself mistakes at his level affect everything,BR is way down(culpable in his part)
but continual malaise at board level persist.
We need a board to take us forward
We badly need direction and communication there.thats before a new manager and thats before his choice in players.
To many power dynamics at play with DD planning his succession- thats what we opposed previously
-Dd v Board
-A board a lot of who were there when MoN was there originally.
PL hokey cokey
– succession issues re DD
To much of our instability stems from a board conflicted pleasing biggest S/h(owner) and pleasing us,if ‘every penny in went out on improvement’ then having that bank balance in a club founded for penny dinners is wrang
Excuse B78 we have more than a team to rebuild,
BR is not the soul blame,if we be honest we have made fearty appointments and afraid to step on and grow you could say since they went bust, all for history to argue
FYI, for anyone who hasn’t been living under a rock today, BODO/Glimpt just embarrassed Man Citey 3-1…
Boring Brendan….just got his celtic team scoring the 2nd most goals in the club’s league history….2nd only to the Lions……. God give me that Boring every year !!!…..
So once again, when the chips are down,we prefer to gamble like a drunk man.A loan deal for a striker miles away from form, and who has already failed in another loan deal in Turkey.
I pray this is not it.We need more in.
Be good if we could get a few out, even on loan.Does no one bother about that side of things?.
Shambles of a window so far.
I suppose building a progressive, solid foundation that eventually competes with the shallow money of imposters isn’t for everyone.
Is their an option to recall Kwon?
Great start for us in Greece. A win for Olympiakos will really do our rivals down in their search for automatic CL place.

…….
Priceless , so funny worth repeating every day.
Apologiesforthesarcasmcfc
Greenpinta,
Boring my ars.e Fed up writing this on here,altogether,139 goals,112 in the League.20 goals from wingers,30 odd goals from Maeda.Kasper and missed penalties denied him yet another Treble.11 Trophies from 13 is boring???????Please dont let anyone from another club hear you say that.Get laughed out the Pub.
Fans leaving early?.Been doing that since I was getting a lift over.
I take it you don’t rate him.
