Winning or living within your means

83

Alistair Johnston concluded Celtic players’ international commitments in the early hours of this morning (UK time) with no adverse injury news across the two weeks.  After tomorrow, the squad will scarcely have a proper training session until February.  There will be tired limbs, tired minds and a few knocks to deal with.  That’s the price of success and it is what the club prepares for.

Love the feedback across the city to news that a man who was a scout this time last year, then became head of recruitment, is now director of football, a role which has remained vacant since April 2023, because no suitable candidate was prepared to accept the position.

The 39-year-old Belgian gave what sounded like a banal platitude in the statement accompanying the announcement, but is more insightful than it appears.  “Winning is all that matters at this club”.

That’s the problem right there.  If winning is everything, living within your means is nowhere.  No football club in the game needs to park the ‘winning is everything’ chat for a few years more than Newco.

Black Friday last year I got a 65” smart TV for £99, only problem was it had a faulty volume control…..but at that price you couldn’t turn it down.

  3. My butt plug collection shrunk quite substantially in his last season with us.

If people think some of our fans were overly harsh with him you should see the way the Norwich fans talk about him

Absolutely brilliant footballer, in his own mind. Nowhere near, in my mind.

I think by the time Todd settles and focuses his mind, he’ll be nearing retirement.

He must’ve had more fun than I did.

The boy is a complete ball of confusion

As bad as we are now, we don’t miss him.

He has the intelligence of a poodle

He was shite. Thought he could come up here and light the world up. Played right into the hands of the apologist filth media and a goat shagger.

We’ve got that low as a club and shite recruitment that some on here still actually think he was a good buy.

Is he still at the mighty Blackburn?

I remember someone else that thought that was the way forward and came back with his tail between his legs and now talks shite on radio.

Heartbreaking what we’ve become. So many legends that are no longer with us would be disgusted. Fckn criminal.

Big Jimmy, why don’t you just plug our PC into your new tv via the HDMI and save the hassle of buying NEW MONITOR?

    …………

I have my DESKTOP Computer in one side of my living room. My existing TV is across the living room in a corner.

As I can NOT get CELTIC TV and/or PREMIER SPORTS on my Smart TV….I watch the Fitba on my PC Monitor.

I just want a Bigger Monitor to watch the Fitba. My present Monitor is okay but it is only 23 inch screen….If I remember correctly ?

    Cheers mate.
