With Ticketus gone the charade is over

386

Ticketus, one of Rangers three major creditors, Craig Whyte and HM Revenue and Customs, being the others, have announced they will no longer work with the Blue Knights (or it is Blue Knight) consortium in an effort to buy Rangers.

Ticketus were crucial to Duff and Phelps hopes of being able to acquire Craig Whyte’s shares in Rangers.  Although anyone who actually listened to Mr Whyte will know how unlikely this was, their withdrawal from the process formally brings an end to this fantasy.

Without Rangers shares, Duff and Phelps cannot sell the club.  Mr Whyte also has security over Ibrox stadium, so they cannot sell the stadium either.

Some weeks ago suggestions were leaked to the media that Ticketus had agreed to forgive all but £10m of their debt.  It was even suggested this figure would be repayable on easy terms.  Now the company will take their place alongaspirationsside other creditors.  In the event Rangers remain in business long enough to sell tickets for next season, revenue from the first (circa) 25,000 tickets sold for each game goes directly to Ticketus.

The charade is over.

Those hoping to see a club resembling Rangers form in the future have had months to secure a stadium, club licence, stadium, players, stadium, and commercial infrastructure.  Instead they have stalled, chasing an unattainable CVA.

There is no time left, there will be no CVA and the chances of a phoenix next season is increasingly remote.

Listened to the Jeremy Vine show this afternoon, because I like a good laugh.

Apparently the government’s greatest new wheeze to waste your tax money on the feckless and bone-idle involves sending social workers around to wake them up and make them breakfast in the morning, because they refuse to take responsibility for getting themselves up at a reasonable hour and/or sending their own children to school.

Maybe Rangers needs a visit from the social work department, given that they refuse to take even the most basic responsibility for their own affairs?

Their business model seems to be based on the antics of Fagin from Oliver Twist, so arguably their players should be taken into care. (thumbsup)

  3. Glasgow Rangers (IA) have announced hat they will revert back to their policy of not signing Catholics, or Jews or Hindus or Sikhs or Buddhists or Protestants or well anyone really.

You know this. I know this. Everybody who reads this blog knows this (except, perhaps, for Declan). Shall we tell the rest of the world or should we keep it our little secret?

  7. Lets send a message to the SPL

The Green Brigade have asked us to advertise a protest which they have planned for Sunday’s game. The protest will involve us all, in the 15th minute, standing up and turning our backs to the pitch. The idea behind the protest is that we send a visual message to the SPL and clubs that fans will literally be turning their backs on Newco should they vote yes to the proposals on Monday. Given the game is live on TV and will be going across the world, any visual protest like this will be picked up by the media and discussed.

The Celtic Trust is happy to support this visual protest and we call on all fans who have concerns about the integrity of the game in Scotland to support the Green Brigade in this action.

The Pantaloon Duck – I heart Declan, he’s a ray of sunshine in a weary world.

If he were here, he’d reassure us that Paul Murray is a business magnet and he’ll Chip n’ Dale rescue rangers. (thumbsup) (thumbsup)

You must be wrong because Aunt Sally has stated Duff&Duffer told him they are so close to a deal.

Not told him with who or when but they are very, very close.

  10. Pantaloon Duck, can I let you into a secret? Even Declan knows it!

31003 wont be posting this afternoon as he’s helping me set up tables for a race night tonight. This is an incredible show of solidairty from 31003 considering just a wee while ago he had major open heart quadruple by-pass surgery near death experience…a wee while ago.

My sincere thanks to Voguepunter for his kind donation for tonight.

  13. But Paul….

‘Fun Time’ Alastair ‘Ally’ McCoist had a 2 hour conference call with Bill Miller who’s an American man for 2 hours.

And then there’s that man who’s got his rugby club for sale.

    And then there’s some knights.

And then there’s that nice Mr NG, who says he likes football and everything.

So I think you’ll find if you get off the inter web for a second and go and buy a proper paper that things are positively rosy for everyone involved in the Ibrox.

And Lord Walter Smith said Fun Time was totally, 110%, absolutely right about the stuff he vaguely alluded to.

So there you go right there ya big scandal mongerer ye…

I thought the mighty jimbo mr mojo risin was well known for being knickerless?

    Mort,

    fantastic!

that has to be twittered, facebook shared, multi media’d as much as possible.

    ulysses,

I also think the ref will be even more MIB’d up that usual and for that reason alone I think we should all applaud and cheer every decision he gives against us.

Remember what happened in 1999 when Hugh Dallas was struck by a coin. After the match Celtic and Celtic supporters were blamed. I was at that game and it was a horrible atmosphere. I couldn’t believe the match reports after.

How more galling could it be than to be applauded and cheered for every “wrong” or controversial or penalising decision you make? Does it really matter what the result is on Sunday, the game’s up for Rangers (IA), they know it and we know it. This could be the last chance for others to try to show that “we are as bad as them”.

The only and best way to sing the Billy boys is to laugh it. why not extend the same courtesy to the refs?

And you get to have a good old laugh at a Celtic Rangers (IA) match.

Laughter is the best medicine csc
