With Ticketus gone the charade is over

386

Ticketus, one of Rangers three major creditors, Craig Whyte and HM Revenue and Customs, being the others, have announced they will no longer work with the Blue Knights (or it is Blue Knight) consortium in an effort to buy Rangers.

Ticketus were crucial to Duff and Phelps hopes of being able to acquire Craig Whyte’s shares in Rangers.  Although anyone who actually listened to Mr Whyte will know how unlikely this was, their withdrawal from the process formally brings an end to this fantasy.

Without Rangers shares, Duff and Phelps cannot sell the club.  Mr Whyte also has security over Ibrox stadium, so they cannot sell the stadium either.

Some weeks ago suggestions were leaked to the media that Ticketus had agreed to forgive all but £10m of their debt.  It was even suggested this figure would be repayable on easy terms.  Now the company will take their place alongaspirationsside other creditors.  In the event Rangers remain in business long enough to sell tickets for next season, revenue from the first (circa) 25,000 tickets sold for each game goes directly to Ticketus.

The charade is over.

Those hoping to see a club resembling Rangers form in the future have had months to secure a stadium, club licence, stadium, players, stadium, and commercial infrastructure.  Instead they have stalled, chasing an unattainable CVA.

There is no time left, there will be no CVA and the chances of a phoenix next season is increasingly remote.

‘When Celtic win the title, of course it won’t be tainted – sullied perhaps, but not tainted.’

Mark Guidi (on Radio Clyde to a caller who questioned his inability to ask any awkward questions to RFC): ‘You’ve got absolutely no idea how it works – you have to play the game, you need to have a wee bit of to and fro’.

Hugh Keevins (to numerous callers loving RFC (IA)’s predicament- after they’ve been cut off): ‘This is a failure on a basic human level.’

  6. When the SFA released the decisions against CW and RFC(IA) on Monday night, it stated ….

“The Judicial Panel Tribunal shall issue a note of reasons in early course.”

suggesting , I would have thought, that more details of the findings by the investigation of Lord Nimmo would be given .

Drysdale also said he hoped people would understand the decision once they had seen the evidence/report that had led them to the sanctions.

Any one any idea when the SFA plan to release this information?

Rangers boss believes drop to Third Division would be ‘morally’ right

Ally McCoist has warned Scottish football as a whole would not not necessarily benefit from any drop out of the SPL.

Ally McCoist believes it would be “morally” correct for Rangers to be forced to apply to join the Scottish Football League and play in the Third Division next season.

The manager though has warned the move would not necessarily be to the benefit overall of the Scottish game.

“It’s a tough one,” said McCoist. “It might be the right thing to do morally and people will have their own opinions on it, with differences far and varied.

“There’s an argument the right thing to do is for Rangers to go down to the Third Division and that might be the case if it’s a newco after liquidation.

“But is it the correct thing to do for Scottish football? Probably not. Everybody’s got a dilemma and that’s why there are so many opinions on it.

“Whether people like it or not, Rangers and Celtic are different because of the size and magnitude of the two clubs.

“Supporters of other clubs and some Old Firm supporters say you can’t have rules for some clubs and not for others.

“In an ideal world, that would be 100 per cent correct. I would absolutely and totally agree with that.

“But the fact of the matter is we’re asking if it would be good for the rest of the SPL if Rangers went down to the Third Division? The answer has to be no.

“I don’t envy the people who have to make that decision. I can understand the hypocrisy of it but Rangers and Celtic are different.”

What’s the point of the post? Well the huns are (as yet) still not dead. Dying, aye but not dead, hey, we’re all dying.

Recurring theme (well from me anyway), if only I could believe in the way that some of the contributors on here do, that they will be no more…….. I wish!

Need to see ‘the holes in their putrid flesh’ so to speak, and so, still think that they are what they are and as such next season will see them continue as is, with the support and connivance of the brotherhood and carpet-baggers that have saw/seen them flaunt all sorts of regulations/laws thus far……..

BTW, the guy Kennedy is a serious player and although he is not one of them, his in-laws are steeped in the ‘tradition’ of Hades…….

Just my take and fervently hope to be proved wrong, wrong, wrong!

I’m pretty certain that the SFA are obliged to send them the full details 48 hours after the decision is announced, and that them have three days to appeal that.

This is the normal arrangement but since they are the mighty tax dodgers, they immediately wrote to have an expedited appeal. In other words, they wanted the rules changed to accommodate them.

Nothing new under the sun or at Ibrokes.

Get this through your thick head, Ally. There is nothing after liquidation. If liquidated, Rangers ceases to be. It is no more. Bereft of life. Pushing up the daises. It is an ex football club.

  20. Fellow CQNers

Some observations and an admonishment to take care.

In an increasingly secular world where material and tangible things seem to take more prominance than faith, it has become increasingly apparent to me that what we are witnessing is the death of a church like organisation.

Many Rangers fans would see their club as their faith and Ibrox as their church.

You can pick up on that fervour when speaking at length to some of their fans.

It’s not such a leap to make.

With any such organisation there are moderates and hardliners. Recently the moderate voice has been drowned out by the shouting from the throng. Sometimes from the pulpit too.

When a society or a civilisation approaches the end of its days there are often the last violent lurches of the body refusing to acknowledge its own death.

This is often the case with religious zealots who will lash out when the reality of their situation is presented to them. In the US there are many small hate-filled schisms of many of the mainstream faiths.

What I am most apprehensive about is the reaction to the coming end of days.

I believe that the reaction will be specific and targetted.

Our schools, our Churches, our men and women of faith will be vulnerable and I urge caution to those of you going on Sunday.

There is no answer. No one knows how to do it. Ergo, they are staring oblivion in the face. They don’t seem to like the look of oblivion very much.
