With Ticketus gone the charade is over

386

Ticketus, one of Rangers three major creditors, Craig Whyte and HM Revenue and Customs, being the others, have announced they will no longer work with the Blue Knights (or it is Blue Knight) consortium in an effort to buy Rangers.

Ticketus were crucial to Duff and Phelps hopes of being able to acquire Craig Whyte’s shares in Rangers.  Although anyone who actually listened to Mr Whyte will know how unlikely this was, their withdrawal from the process formally brings an end to this fantasy.

Without Rangers shares, Duff and Phelps cannot sell the club.  Mr Whyte also has security over Ibrox stadium, so they cannot sell the stadium either.

Some weeks ago suggestions were leaked to the media that Ticketus had agreed to forgive all but £10m of their debt.  It was even suggested this figure would be repayable on easy terms.  Now the company will take their place alongaspirationsside other creditors.  In the event Rangers remain in business long enough to sell tickets for next season, revenue from the first (circa) 25,000 tickets sold for each game goes directly to Ticketus.

The charade is over.

Those hoping to see a club resembling Rangers form in the future have had months to secure a stadium, club licence, stadium, players, stadium, and commercial infrastructure.  Instead they have stalled, chasing an unattainable CVA.

There is no time left, there will be no CVA and the chances of a phoenix next season is increasingly remote.

Charity Fund donates £25k to Mending Broken Hearts Appeal

By: Newsroom Staff on 27 Apr, 2012 14:45

CELTIC Charity Fund, the charitable arm of Celtic Football Club today announced that it has made a £25,000 donation to the British Heart Foundation.

The BHF was the principal beneficiary of the recent Celtic Charity Fund Sporting Dinner and the funds donated will go specifically towards the Foundation’s Mending Broken Hearts Appeal.

At the moment, there is no cure for a broken heart. Once the heart muscle is damaged by a heart attack, it can never fully recover. But there is hope. We need to spend £50m to fund groundbreaking research that could begin to literally ´mend broken hearts´ in as little as 10 years time.

Celtic has joined forces to support the BHF and this work can give hope to hundreds of thousands of people across the UK.

A spokesperson for the BHF said: “British Heart Foundation Scotland would like to thank the Celtic Charity Fund for the spectacular donation of £25,000 following the 2012 Annual Sporting Dinner in support of our Mending Broken Hearts Appeal.

“We rely on donations of time and money to continue our vital work, so this outstanding amount will help us to give hope to the thousands of Scots living with heart failure, many of whom live in Glasgow”.

Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell added: “Celtic has always been more than a club and Celtic Charity Fund continues to make an important difference to the lives of so many.

“The British Heart Foundation appeal is one which we are delighted to support and we hope such funding will allow the charity to continue its excellent research work tackling a very important issue.”

Kennedy bought Stockport, used them to do up the stadium, transfered the stadium to Sale Sharks and then charged them to rent the stadium after he got rid of them.

    Great to see you posting.

Ask yourself this. You are a business man and run companies. If Rangers was one of your ventures, how would you get them out of their present predicament?

There is no answer. No one knows how to do it. Ergo, they are staring oblivion in the face. They don’t seem to like the look of oblivion very much.

A big manly hug and hail hail to you and the better looking members of your family………

S, thanks for the response, and V (the ‘slightly’ better looking half) appreciated the ‘compliment’ …… We might well be passing through Chester in June, if so, will give you a shout…..

Re ‘If Rangers was one of your ventures, how would you get them out of their present predicament?’……….

Most importantly, IMHO, it wouldn’t be a business decision (if I was that way inclined), much as buying shares in Celtic was never a business decision for US……. No, even though their (previous attempts at) flotations have not been supported from the ground up, there are surely still the ego driven types of the Whyte (sic) charger variety who may/will spend the mortgage money to see them survive. That is my fear…………. Business, no, for me, its not about business, more about perpetuating the supremacist myth. Yes, they may (eventually) go to the wall but only when the OO and their masonic cohorts breathe their last………Melodramatic, maybe, like I said just my take.

Whatever, my friend, take care and say hello to ‘I the driver’ when you next see him.

  17. Can`t someone tell Duff and Co that they could save lots of money for RFCIA by adopting a scheme which could help Rangers avoid paying out lots of money needlessly. There is a thing called an `Employees Benefit Trust`, which, instead of paying players big wages, they pay them a small wage, and then give them loans, big great huge massive loans which they tell them they`ll have to pay back nudge nudge wink wink. Do any of our other readers think this is a good plan?

  21. this is shoorly good news for the rangers. with ticketbus gone there will be even more money available for alisdair in the summer. we all kno fine well the sfa will overtip the decision to embarge them from buying haddies. they will be back even stronger next year and we wont have the excuse of a ten point deducement. we need to give lennon big money or we will be left in ther dust. no way our board will do that so whilst we are laughnig they will be quietly getting ready to start another 9 in a row. i feel sorry for alisdair becoz the stuff he said has been taken out of contecks. there is no way he wanted bams to go and find those loon balls who made that stupid desishun. no way alisdair wanted that he is an onurable man who doesnt get involved in underlegged dealnigs like that. people should no him by now and saying anythnig else just make you look like a paranoyd bampod.
