One or two of us mocked another team for struggling against Second and Third division sides this season. All good sporting fun but from the lofty heights of the Champions League knockout stages you need to make sure you can overcome a team who are treading water in the third tier of Scottish football.
Arbroath were good value for their draw at Celtic Park earlier this month. It would be wrong to say their late equaliser was coming, as they never threatened during the previous 86 minutes, but they were thoroughly well organised and apart from a bizarre own goal would have reached the 87th minute on level terms.
The CQN Annual is 196 pages dripping with pure Celtic. You can order online here, a glossy joy for someone for Christmas!
Our eclectic collection of African, Mediterranean and metropolitan players will have little experience of the biting Arctic wind that will blow in off the Angus coast tonight, just a few yards from Gayfield Park, whereas the part-timers from Arbroath will be very much at home. This, my friends in Celtic, is what they call the Romance of the Cup.
Don’t be comforted by the wins over Barca and Spartak, they guarantee nothing. One more lacklustre performance and dreams of Celtic’s fourth treble will be kippered. 2012 has been the year of the little man, the “diddy teams”, as a wild Rover coined them in the summer. There is one remaining superpower in our sport and every game they play is a cup final for someone.
Get Up for the Cup, Celtic.

The only problem is that the flights in question are at 0700.
There will be other flights to Turin from the UK.
Not sure from where or with which airline.
Another problem might arise if we dont draw Juventus in the round of 16!
HH!!
I hope Lassad plays, a bit of game time is what he needs, he will be a star for us.

Corkcelt is right. It’s not been given the go ahead and it not for Strathclyde Police to make that decision. Their statement is carefully worded.
In their weakness and desperation, some Northern Ireland loyalists have been trying for years to widen the conflict to Scotland. They can’t even drum any significant support in N. Ireland for this little spat..
They’re pathetic enough in their element of their own midden. Outside of it they’ve trouble breathing far less articulating. So I think an interview with one of the few dozen who turn up could provide some lunch time entertainment this Saturday in Glasgow. We could run a sweep on how many times the interview says “Ulster says … Our culture … we’re British … the flag of our country …”
No, he isn’t, he’s a very smart salesman, doing what he does best, selling.
Also, would you care to define the word “twat”?

Was bound to happen as you said. A good part of Ayrshire is like a mini ulster as it is. Someone posted a few days ago about the % of Catholics and Protestants in northern Ireland being much closer to 50-50. I believe some of that (don’t know if it’s a fact) is down to many of the nut jobs moving over here.
You have to wonder as they get unhappier with their lot (with stuff like the flag crap) if even more will come over. Maybe they think Scotland presents them with a life much more suited to their agenda, I wonder why eh!

About the protest, what will their behaviour be like. IMO it will be a hate-filled
,sectarian, racist hun fest. Will the authorities turn a blind eye, it will be
interesting to see their approach. The huns wil not come out of this to
well. Give em enough rope.
Hope some of the young bhoys are given another chance.
Hail Hail
A big challenge tonight – totally unglamorous, viciosly cold , changed squad I presume – arbroath have nothing to lose

Good strong team. Get the job done and the subs on.
Selling to brain dead zombies, the same zombies who really have no choice but to weigh in , by not weighing in might just be the end, I wouldn’t call that a very smart salesman :>)
Agreed, lets put this tie to bed.

If I were in charge and I thought the fat, loyalist waistcoat tearers could make it I’d direct the March 1 mile north east to Royston Rd.

Any injury free victory will do
Put Hooper on for first goal in the last game, I think I’ll put Sammy on for first tonight.

It could only potentially be ‘… the worst cup upset ever…’
IF
a) Celtic are involved in said cup tie
AND
b) That diddy on BBC sport forms an opinion
