Glasgow and Edinburgh have four stadiums with a capacity of 50,000 people or more: Murrayfield, Hampden, Celtic Park and Ibrox. Hampden will be under lease to Uefa at the time of the Scottish Cup Final on 22 May. This arrangement permits games to take place but prohibits fans from attending.
The Scottish Government (I’m not a fan, but to their credit), would almost certainly permit fans to attend, as their example-setters in London have already indicated they would do the same before that date. Given this opportunity to have thousands of fans at a showpiece game, if you were in charge of the SFA you would move it from Hampden to Celtic Park, Ibrox, Murrayfield (my preference). If necessary, you would move it to Cliftonhill to permit “the lifeblood of the game” to be in attendance.
However, you are not in charge of the SFA. Given a choice between holding the Cup Final with fans at another venue, or holding it at an empty Hampden, the Association decided on the latter option. These people!
Five Newco players were caught, red handed, breaking restrictions on Valentine’s Day. They are free to face Celtic on Scottish Cup duty next weekend, nine weeks later. Thanks to the SFA, suspensions will kick in days later. Celtic broke zero restrictions in January, but rules were changed on-the-fly by the aforementioned Scottish Government, forcing Celtic to play two games at a critical time of the season without 16 players.
Don’t try to wreck your brain looking for fairness or consistency here, you’re in Scotland, wise up.

HS- the coverage is North Korea stuff…
Bada
I don`t know anything about North Korea media but surely it cannot be any worse than this sychophantic nonsense the British public are being fed?
Anyway, enough of that from me.
Team for today? Is Mikey J fit?

If it’s not Howe, please get someone in pronto to give them a fighting chance for next season.
Unbelievable dithering from our custodians who would have thought that.
DAVID, there can be no surprise really at the ‘dithering’. Who is overseeing the current process for strategic change, personnel employment (including DoF and new manager/coach)? None other than those overseeing the shambles that unravelled over the last season (or two) so again, no surprise. What is Pistol Pete doing just now, is he involved in any way, at any level in these negotiations, in future planning?
Who exactly IS doing the research/investigation. the interviewing? If it’s any of those in place over recent seasons (and I assume it must be) then no wonder the fans have concerns.
Rumour that Ten Hag of Ajax is now on the horizon? At least that would be an attractive, modern appointment of a successful coach.
Is Griffiths nearing full fitness?

Greenpinata……
In general we have the most spineless, inept and pitiful bunch of journalists and politicians that ever lived.
Couldn’t agree more. The lack of journalistic scrutiny especially in sport/football and politics is embarrassing. At one time their function was, without fear or favour, to hold those with power and influence to account.
The standard of questioning we see now can be summed up in 3 words ; absolute abysmal rubbish.
At a time where Scotlands needs journalists to drill down on vitally important issues , we are left relying on a pile of talentless dross to do the asking.
GREENPINTA @ 11:37
You’re 100% correct. Here they are “milking'(sorry couldn’ resist) for all it’s worth, a whispered comment in the ear of a player in an empty stadium.
Yet a chorus of sectarian abuse incorporating the full Orange Order repertoire in a full 48,000 stadium goes unreported by the Scottish media every other week.
Consider: the same Scottish media are also cowed & compliant with the SNP cult – what in the name of God would it be like in an independent Scotland?
We’d be caught in a pincer-movement & squeezed till our ‘pips squeaked’. The 350k of our kind, now being conned by the SNP cult, will shoulder so much blame.

Agreed that was my point asleep at the wheel again and unforgivable for this season.
Everyone and I mean every single one of our board should be sacked.
Anyway, onto today.
I hope we have 2 centre forwards on the park to score some of the chances we are creating.
It’s not rocket science.

Spiers from the Times today.
Just checking…
I commend Rangers FC, the club I supported passionately as a kid but have been extremely critical of in my working life, for their anti-racism stand in the wake of the Glen Kamara outrage. The rise of racism in our society is worrying — fuelled by social media — and football can play its part. But I do just want to check: Rangers FC are just as animated and passionate, aren’t they, about fighting anti-Catholic and anti-Irish bigotry, which have been blights around the club for decades? They are, aren’t they?

Perpetuating the lie of the same club narrative is an odd way to try to get to the truth.

Something similar happened in the 1970 Scottish Cup Final against Aberdeen in 1970

Spot on IMO
Graeme Spiers once a Rainjur always a Rainjur.
Only Celtic supporters will notice how Spiers subtly makes Rainjurz into Sevco and vice versa
He’s already been banned from FF for years, but his criticism of Sevco is all part of the wider
same club myth.
Ernie- I’m sure Spiers said they’re a new Klub, maybe that’s why he’s not on Shortbread anymore….

cowed and compliant to who?
Did Tony? ruperts wife?
nearly as funny as watching your hero George Galloway get his socialism “fagged” a confused wretch of a self publicist as well as unionist vermin.
once the res12″water flows under the bridge” it will soon become part of the unionist paranoia and fear that if you leave this genocidal union big bad things happen..
i dont mind socialism,its necessary.
what we dont need are Georgie working with tories.i suppose only doin what a socialist does in power.Scum and vermin are complimentary to shysters like that.

‘Ernie- I’m sure Spiers said they’re a new Klub’
###
His view at the time was that they were a new club but should be entitled to the old club’s titles.
Looks like he’s just swimming with the tide now.
