LUKE McCOWAN scored his third Celtic goal in the 5-0 romp over Ross County at Parkhead yesterday.
The £1million recruit from Dundee on deadline day also assisted in three other Hoops strikes as the champions eased five points ahead of Aberdeen at the top of the league.
McCowan, one of six changes introduced by Brendan Rodgers following the 1-1 midweek Champions League draw with Club Brugge, did enough in his 70 minutes on the pitch to earn the Man of the Match accolade.
But the hard-working, enterprising middle-of-the-park performer accepts he may not figure when the Hoops take on the Dons at Pittodrie on Wednesday evening in an encounter that could go a long way to the destination of the title at the end of the campaign.
PARADISE…Luke McCowan celebrates his third strike for Celtic after making it 2-0 against Ross County.
The level-headed McCowan, speaking to Celtic TV, said: “You can’t have a petted lip when you’re not playing in this team.
“You’ve got to be ready to come on.
“The squad is full of quality and there are so many games across the season that you just have to be ready when called upon.
“I just always want to learn. I think I’m asking Callum 20 million questions a day on how to play positions or whatever!
“I’m always willing to learn and don’t want to drop the standards or levels. You just want to keep them going.”
McCowan’s attitude is first-class and there is little doubt the 26-year-old midfielder has a role to play for the champions as the season unfolds at home and abroad.
