Every year we ask you to put your hand in your pocket for various causes and every year you react, but never more so than 2012. You responded magnificently to the Wee Oscar Appeal, which from Celtic fans in total raised £31k in a bucket collection in September and £27k at a race night last month.
It is breath-taking to see the work done by those who, without thought for their personal sacrifices, decided this young boy would get the best chance possible. The photographs of Oscar are an inspiration, but the work done by those who staged the race night and bucket collection – and brought a new CQN badge to life – is even more inspiring.
The events surrounding the charity golf day raised four-figure sums for Oscar, the Neuroblastoma Alliance, the Martin Chambers Ecuador Trust and The Haven in Blantyre, which supports people with life limiting illness. There were smaller donations too, each one a credit to the organisers and to those of you who contributed.
The overwhelming majority of this work, and pretty much all donations, are made by people who don’t want any thanks and would be horrified by publicity. In most instances the beneficiaries will never know their names. I’m in the really fortunate position that I get to see a lot of this happen and I can assure you it is awe inspiring. You are in the company of many great Celts.
This club is not Neil Lennon’s or Dermot Desmond’s, it’s yours. Celtic will win and lose many games but that will change nothing that is really important. You are the person who will make it a unique force for good in the world. That is our challenge for 2013.
Thank you for all your help, take care and have an absolutely fantastic Christmas.

Fraser fosters champions league heroics has convinced Alex ferguson that not only is he on the brink of an England cap but can be the man to finally solve his goalkeeping headache and finally fill the gloves vacated by van der Saar

A very Merry Christmas to the Celtic FC family across the globe and in particular those that frequent and continue to inspire and educate this Tim over my history and heritage.
I suspect I am…ahem, tender in years in comparison to most that contribute regularly and being so far away from home, I am kept up date of with the works of compassion, generosity and love for your neighbour that characterize being a Celtic FC supporter.
To our host Paul67, hearty wishes of goodwill for the season to you and your loved ones. Thank you again in providing a platform that creates consensus for the will and actioning that you describe above.
CQN does indeed inspire me to keep the faith.
Happy Christmas to all on CQN.

Merry Christmas to you, i hope you are well
Paul,
Do not normally contribute, as I am not as articulate as the majority of the scholars who frequent this site.
Firstly, thanks Paul for this excellent site.
Secondly, to the whole Celtic family may I wish you all a very merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
Hail, hail!!
Yuletide greetings
Hope Paul67 and all CQN’s have a very happy Christmas
The wee Oscar bucket collection and our magnificent night when we crushed Barca at paradise showed the world how to support a football team, two events i will never forget, what a wonderful family is the Celtic family
oldtim67
Have you made any arrangements for the Motherwell game yet?
RRC, thanks to you too! There seems little time to post these days. Had more time when I was off sick and recuperating but now that’s already 2.5 years ago. Now they’re making me work! All the best to you and yours.
Is Chuck mad or am i ?
Auldheid,
More power to your endeavours to sort out Scottish fitba.
Do you know if there is a process in place to put up a challenger to Campbell Ogilvie if he seeks re-election?

========================
Think it’s a bit of both mate :O)
Watching the Celtic game on Channel 428. Looking forward to seeing the supporters’ lighting up the ground with their mobile phones (I don’t have the function on mine, I think). If everybody who could do so would do it against Juventus, I think it would make quite a sight.
Best wishes all Guinness flowing, that’s normal not that extra cold nonsense!
How about a wee campaign for Mr Green
PAY THE 276!
Voguepunter
Think he’s slightly worse than me mate although that could be debatable!
Merry Christmas buddie

Dying to meet you bud.

Great football story. Didn’t know about Tony Green being from Glasgow. Newcastle picked up some good Scottish players over the years, Jimmy Smith was another one if I am not mistaken.

Awe Naw
Some tube has hi-jacked yir moniker.
Tim Malone Will Tell
Not sure what the process is but unless we get the message across that his position is untenable and incompatible with the future of our game he could be re-elected.
A groundswell against this is required and for that opinion has to get off the blogs and go mainstream.
Is that Leggo posting as Awe Naw?

Hail Hail and merry Christmas
Celtic Mac
I played against Jimmy Smith in my teens. Superb player who ran us ragged. He dragged our defense all over the park to one side, pivoted and sent a cross field ball to a team matem standing all on his todd who scored easily.
There is a history of great Scots at Newcastle.
To all CQN’rs have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
To 4GF HT sorry about Saturday just getting back to health now.
Paul 67 may you and yours have a very happy and holy Christmas.

I’d like to forget about them forever. If only!
Auldheid those who elect Ogilvie are well aware of public opinion. Because they take the fans as a given, they will continue to ignore us.
oh and raise a glass to Mick Malones Mauser
