You did this in 2013

1233

Yet again during 2013 we asked you to put your hand in your pocket and you responded as only Celtic fans do.  You raised £6000 before and during the focus of our summer fundraising activity, the annual golf day.  £4500 of this went towards the 1254125 Appeal, which during the year did an enormous amount to anchor the club and support right back to where we came from.  Clic Sargent, who help children with cancer, also benefited at that time.

Thanks also to those who sponsored my 10k at the Great Scottish Run in October to the tune of £1552.  Times remain tight for many, so I the value of your support.

Perhaps the biggest response all year came from the commitment we made to Mary’s Meals to build and kit a kitchen at the Kholoni Primary School in Malawi.  1200 kids are registered at the school but there are no catering facilities, so students go hungry, or simply don’t go to school at all.  Pablophanque’s family sent on the £4500 support they received in 2011 to the appeal, while 470 people booked a seat at the CQteN St Patrick’s Day dinner, with more on the waiting list.  The work we’ll achieve in 2014 will be incredible.

This place can stress and annoy sometimes but it has become a great window into the soul of the Celtic support.

Have a great Christmas and thank you for all your support.

Thanks but our problems really are insignificant in comparison.

Anyway, cheers pal, maybe next time I am back (planning for January) we can get more than a couple of halves.

All the best to you and your’s…….. Take care.

The 5 way agreement was signed by 5 (yes FIVE) parties; the SFA, the SPL, the SFL, Duff & Phelps ( as Administrators for Rangers 1872) and Sevco Scotland Ltd (who morphed into The Rangers International Football Club plc). Celtic had nothing, yes NOTHING, to do with it.

Officially the agreement is top secret but Charlotte published draft copies on Twitter. It’s complex and not to be gone into with drink taken.

Auldheid, I’m sure, is well able to look after himself but, whilst I respect your right to disagree with him, show some courtesy and moderate your tone. IMHO, you’re talking pash.

  3. Kitalba,

I enjoy reading your posts, as I find you have an objective look at scenarios that are going on.

I realise you have a bugbear with Auldheid over technicalities of the ONE way agreement, surely the debate can continue at another time.

Have a good Christmas with your family and friends. Hail Hail

Aulheid. Please correct me if this statement is wrong.

When Sevco were voted into Div 3(as known at the time) and consequently SFL members (as known at the time) they had 14 days to apply for Associate SFA membership under article 14 (as known at the time) and under the discretionary powers of the SFA thus became associate members.

No. As a result of being accepted by SFL3 as Associate Members of the SFL they automatically became REGISTERED members of the SFA and had 14 days to apply to the SFA for an Associate Membership of the SFA. If they failed to do so, or it was rejected then their Associate Membership of the SFL lapsed.

However the need to apply for Associate Membership using this route was avoided because the SFA used the powers under Article 14 to transfer the Oldco Membership to Newco and as Oldco’s was full so too was Newcos.

However, after league reconstruction by de-facto being SFL members became full SFA members because under reconstruction the SFA changed their rules to abolish associate membership?

If I remember correctly the SPL did not have an Associate Member status

Only the SFL had that so when the SFL disappeared the Associate Membership went with it. The SFA then amended their articles accordingly.

Now any motivation can be applied to that change but given that Rangers already had Full SFA Membership status by dint of Art 15 powers that I covered then the motivation for change in terms of reconstruction to suit Rangers can be dismissed

That work had already been done by the SFA under Art 15 powers of discretion.

I hope that makes it clearer. I reckon both SFA and SPL must have known long before the jig was up that the jig was up and started to see how the rules could be used to suit their objective of keeping Rangers alive if not alive and well.

Art 14 allowed full SFA membership if it was applied for. D&P and or C Green must have applied but were probably advised to do so by the SFA during the crisis management stage.

The reconstruction made no difference to Newco’s SFA membership status. It was already full by then.

  7. Feliz Navidad to all .

I have met Auldheid a few times, he may be many things, but one thing for sure, he is as good a Celtic mhan as I have ever met.

We have disagreed on many things, his take on the board and mine for starters, but he is honest, and whatever he does is for the good of Celtic and the game in scotland in general.

He is passionate about bringing the cheating bas**rds to book, I hope that he is rewarded for all his hard work and honesty.

    Tale care and god bless.

    St Johnstone v Celtic

By: Newsroom Staff on 24 Dec, 2013 12:07

FOR clarity, Celtic Football Club has received confirmation that flags and banners will now be permitted at the match against St Johnstone on Boxing Day.

Last week, Celtic Football Club noted the advice given by local police regarding safety, flags and banners at the match.

We acknowledge we had not received final confirmation yesterday in terms of a change. However, we are pleased, following consultation and discussion over the past couple of days, that the initial decision has been reviewed by the Police and St Johnstone FC.

As we have said, football is about colour and atmosphere and creating a positive occasion for all and everything should be done to ensure that such an event can take place.

However, we should also bear in mind that supporter safety is of paramount importance and we would re-iterate, therefore, that we do not welcome any form of pyrotechnics or smoke bombs at our matches.

We want to see our matches played in a positive and safe atmosphere and we hope this will be the case on Boxing Day.

Either I made a mistake or you did, either way after tomorrow I’ll go back and look for your post, which I believe I read, in the interim, for the record but if you admit it now it’ll save me a couple of hours on Christmas day, as of today, how many 5 way agreements were invoked, never mind the drafts, how many five way agreements were signed in your belief? Only one? And did CELTIC sign up to the FINAL 5 way agreement………………………….. in your opinion only…. YES OR NO?

    ============================

    Kitalba

I checked back two blogs and cannot find where the 5 way came up from me other than in explaining today how Newco got full SFA membership.

As regards Celtic signing up to it, they could not have done as they were not one of the parties to the agreement.

If by signing up do you mean Celtic were OK with it then I reckon they were satisfied the needs of sporting integrity, which they had insisted on throughout public debate, were met and had no desire to object but more importantly no right or power to deny Newco entry into the SFL.

Imagine the positions were reversed and it was Celtic in the SFL.

Would you have been happy if all the football authorities had agreed on an arrangement that kept you alive but Rangers had put in an objection with no right or power to do so?

Lets leave it at that for now and have a good Christmas.

  13. the whole flag fiasco is just that a fiasco…..from start to finish nobody has accepted credit or blame, to be honest ( copyright Fat Sally) I am not sure if anyone comes out of this well.

IMO the polis and with silent compliance of the clubs thought they could get away with this under the old H&S angle……..they made a pigs ear of that with their pathetic explanations of how pyro`s can be concealed. You would think some enterprising memeber of the GB had set them up for this pratfall.

Our own PR as ever was pathetic, no comment backing our own support and no rational compromise offered…we are the omnishambles of the PR world. The MSM duly weighed in , seeing this as a snowball gathering speed and volume with which our support could be driven down. They smelled blood, THEN SOME PERSON SAW THAT WE WERE STARTING TO ASK QUESTIONS, STARTING TO STAND UP FOR OURSELVES.

“They ” knew that legally the whole thing was a basket of shit and a court case waiting to happen. Then they backed down, but they will try again, be sure of that.

Me, if I could afford it ,would buy 6,000 large flags and hand them out to every Celtic fan at Perth and then we would put on a show. The polis hate flags, it spoils their wee video shows as they cover up things and show Celtic fans enjoying themselves, they hate those pesky flags and they have it in for our support. Tough!

To all Celtic supporters have a great and healthy Xmas to all our support at Perth , behave and wave every flag with pride.

    Hail! Hail!

  14. The recent Daily Record front page headline with picture included of a supporter being arrested at his Home in a dawn raid really does beg the question?

    Thanks.

If it is made up, the club should sue the bollix of them.

I also think the club should choose a media outlet to leak stories to, there is a rag war in scotland and it seems that jack has all bases covered, we should choose say the sun, they would happily report pro Celtic stuff if they were getting scoops and were also getting paid for it.

Do whatever it takes to counter the anti Celtic agenda, it may not be to everyones taste, but we need to do something, and fast.

By the 5 way agreement do you mean the one that saw Rangers into the SFL or the one that saw them in the SPL?

Celtic would not have stood against the former, Rangers were never going to be allowed to go out of business and whilst that would have been a good thing for honest football it was never going to happen and Celtic would have been outvoted in any case.

On the latter I think an SPL solution was probably considered until supporters feelings not just Celtic’s made it impossible but that does not mean it was a favoured option.

Celtic could not be seen to actively against an SPL solution but they used the sporting integrity argument to prevent it. I know of one instance where they used it via CQN to get their point across.
