You live in a land where “Accies against the Act” is a prohibited phrase

You will not need me to remind you of an SNP government minister’s desire to “equalise” political chanting in status with criminal acts was one of, if not the primary, motivation for the Offensive Behaviour at Football’ Act.

The Act has been justified at every turn by an insistence that it exists to keep sectarianism and hate away from football games, despite sectarianism and hate chanting being well covered by existing legislation. Yesterday, this presumably shield against hate crime, was used against Hamilton Accies and Celtic fans, holding banners proclaiming “Repeal the Offensive Behaviour Act”. Among other prohibited banner slogans were “Fans not criminals” and “Supporting your team is not a crime”.

I have been appalled at this Act, from the early concepts of the Bill, to its ineffective passage through courts, to this highly Offensive manner it trampled on the Human Rights of Celtic and Hamilton fans to silence political dissent.

You are living in a land where “Accies against the Act” is a prohibited phrase, where both sets of fans, acting in unison, offending no one apart from those in power, are hassled by the police.

Thanks to everyone who donated to my Celtic Foundation fundraising page (still open) for yesterday’s Great Scottish Run, it is enormously appreciated. Well done to the thousands who lined the streets offering support, and on occasion, peeled oranges. Society, a concept we were told was dead in the 80s, is alive and well in Glasgow.

There are two things he posts frequenty and I’d be delighted if he continued that fine tradition.

  3. Having a stag night was bad enough, how you youngers manage a stag weekend, never mind a stag week is beyond me.

I managed to go to Macca’s debut v Hibs the day after mine, not feeling too bad, (obviously because i was still drunk) and chuffed that I’d survived so well, only to suffer a ‘Ya basta!’ of a late-hitter at the match.

Taxi home at half-time wi’ the hangover from Hell!

Still aware enough to have noticed Frankie bhoy’s great first touch, and work-rate. Knew we had a player for the Centenary season.

If Scotland can somehow contain the best centre forward in world football, Robert Lewandowski, then we stand a chance of winning the six remaining points.

Lewandowski has some amazing stats, this season especially, but wonder what his minutes per goal ratio has been in the last couple of years?

Aguero has a goal every 109 minutes, best in English top tier since The Premiership started, ahead of Henry, Van Nistelrooy, Shearer etc.

Some really special players in World Football at the moment.

    Only one Alien though.

This blog that we’re on now started at 12.18pm yesterday,we’re coming up 12 13pm today and there has been only 274 posts. Why is that,

Is it that some guys are suffering because they can’t get through the advertising barrier ,or, is it because of the crap that some posters have had to endure from other posters, I don’t post that often now, the adverts aren’t a problem from me,but there are some who come on here to wind others up, I reckon CQN will disappear in the next year if this problem isn’t fixed.

Marketing speak for window-shoppers. In CQN parlance, every time someone gets locked out and tries again,it counts as an ‘individual’ hit.

I was thinking same..not many posts.

Maybe if Paul got involved in some discussions every now and then that might help..I know he’s busy but good to hear more from him apart from articles.

I don’t know why people let out posters enjoy them so much.. Ignore them and scroll past. Same as the real world. Try ignore and dodge the arseholes.
