Zaluska assault

808

I didn’t realise until this morning that the assault on Lukasz Zaluska’s assault by two premiership footballers was so serious as to have the player lying unconscious on the ground for several minutes.  The Celtic player was out in Glasgow with his wife Sunday night before the incident.

Lukasz was singled-out for online abuse by two Dundee United players in August, one from Poland, one Scottish-born player who has represented Northern Ireland, after the Legia Warsaw Champions League qualifier.  The Polish player subsequently took to Twitter to campaign for Legia’s punishment for fielding a suspended player against Celtic to be reduced.

The stories I could tell about various footballers would fill more than a few volumes, but all of the tales I’ve heard about Lukasz are that he is a polite, generous, player who repeatedly puts himself out to help Celtic fans and Poles living here.  Very best wishes to the big guy, I hope we see him back soon.

If you fancy watching Sunday’s game against Kilmarnock in comfort……..  We have secured another pair of Premium Seat tickets for the Jock Stein Stand from Celtic sponsor Magners.  To win the tickets answer the following question:

Which country do Thursday’s opponents FC Astra come from?

Optionally, if you have £1 available, please donate it to Mary’s Meals at this MyDonate page, which will send your £1 straight to Mary’s Meals, then send me your contact details (with or without donation confirmation) to celticquicknews@gmail.com

If you have received an unsolicited call, from any company, simply hang up do not engage in any pleasantries. It’s like speaking with the Police don’t say anything until you have a lawyer.

Yeah sometimes it can be fun, avoiding their attempt at data mining to the point where they hang up. But I would suggest you only do this if you have nothing more entertaining to do.

SSN understands Dave King “held meaningful discussions” with the Sevco board “and those discussions are continuing”.

Well, Sevco are quickly running out of time and it is a matter of urgency that this situation is resolved. So King is doing what anyone else in this situation would do…

“Dave King is flying back to South Africa on Thursday after attending the Liverpool game tomorrow night … but he hopes to agree a deal in principle…”

    Don’t laugh.

Unsolicited phone calls from banks are the best. They always start by saying they’ll have to ask some security questions before they can talk to me.

I always refuse to answer telling them I don’t know for certain that they are who they claim to be. They say that in that case they can’t speak to me. Big deal, you called me you eejit – click, brrrr.

I’ll still be laughing as they repossess my house.

  9. The orders are now processing on http://www.cqnbookstore.com for the Caesar and The Assassin book – thanks to efforts of Andrew in Belfast.

Incidentally Cesar and Caesar are both correct. Cesar was the original nickname given to Billy – after some second rate actor. Something or other happened in 67 where Billy had to climb some stairs without his teammates and thereafter an extra A was added!

  20. tomtheleedstim,

best one i have ever had was with talktalk a few years back.

I was a customer with them (phone line and broadband) and had been for about 3 or 4 years at that time – previously had been with tiscali for about 6 years until talktalk bought them and thereby their customers over.

My line was cut-off for no apparent reason and so I called to ask what the problem was.

Guy tells me “sorry sir, but you are not a customer of ours” “eh” says I? “Yes sir, you are not a customer of ours”.

“Errrm so how come i have a curomer number, a customer reference number, a payment reference number and 3 years worth of monthly bills then?”

“You must be mistaken sir, you are not and never have been a customer of ours”

“Listen put me onto your manager so I can sort this”

“sorry sir only our customers can speak to a manager”

    “Aaaaaarghhhh”

this went on for about another 20 mins or so during which time i had lost the plot and eventually my wife came in and told me to calm down, hang up and call them back.

Which I did……only for the same thing to happen!

Needless to say I am no longer, and never will be, a customer of Talktalk…..even though I think there must still be a bill outstanding from that last month with them.

I had to wait 21 days for landline number to be ported over to the new company though.

What complete and utter farce that was.

Still get annoyed thinking about it now……

    EMAIL FRAUD

If you receive an email and you don’t recognise the sender…….be very careful

if the email has a Word attachment.

There is one doing the rounds just now from ‘Humber Merchants’ ‘ Industrial Invoice’ and contains an attachment which apparently has the ability to strip passwords, including paypal, and online banking.

    Be careful out there.
