MOUSSA DEMBELE may have missed a penalty-kick in Celtic’s 7-0 flop in Barcelona, but he still captured the attention of Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.
The 20-year-old French striker joined the Hoops from Fulham in the summer with the Craven Cottage outfit receiving a £500,000 development fee.
His stunning hat-trick in last week’s Glasgow derby made headlines Europe-wide and his fellow-countryman Zidane has revealed he is aware of the potential of the Under-20 international.
The legendary midfielder said: “I do like to watch the young French players and Dembele is a player I am excited about.
“Now he has to prove himself in Europe – he needs to show what he’s capable of.”
Dembele signed a four-year contract in July, but reports from Spain indicate the Bernabeu giants had him watched in last Saturday’s 5-1 rout at Parkhead.
The player, though, has indicated he is already perfectly happy with life in Glasgow and expects to thrive under the coaching of Brendan Rodgers.
