£13.5m AJER HEADS FOR EXIT



CELTIC are close to agreeing a £13.5million offer from Brentford for wantaway Kristoffer Ajer.

The Hoops knocked back a £12million bid from the newly-promoted Premier League team at the weekend, as CQN reported.

The submission had add-ons that depended on appearances and success of the 23-year-old international which would have risen to £15million. The Hoops hierarchy were not interested, but It now appears an agreement has been reached and the clauses modified that will take see the money rise to an acceptable level for the Parkhead men who will also insert a sell-on term in the contract.

Reports in his native Norway claim the versatile back-four operator, who still has 12 months to run on his Hoops deal, is set to undergo a medical and that personal terms are also in place.

Ajer went public on his wish to leave Parkhead at the start of last month and also attracted interest from Newcastle, Norwich City and Bayer Leverkusen.

Celtic rejected a £10million bid from the Carrow Road club, but the enhanced offer from the West London outfit has more appeal, according to a report in the Daily Mail.

Ajer has yet to kick a ball in Ange Postecoglou’s side’s three pre-season games against Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton and Bristol City.
