AJETI IN THE CLEAR

CELTIC have won their appeal against the two-game ban handed to Albian Ajeti and he is available for selection to play against St Mirren in Paisley tomorrow night.

The Swiss striker was accused of diving to win a penalty-kick in the 4-0 win over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park a week ago, but has avoided a suspension following a not-proven verdict, according to the Daily Record.

Ajeti was retrospectively cited for simulation after tumbling to the ground following a challenge from Killie keeper Colin Doyle who dived at his feet. Referee Kevin Clancy awarded the Hoops a spot-kick and Odsonne Edouard netted the second goal.

When the news was announced the £5million frontman, who scored his sixth goal in the game, could be banned, CQNinsisted the club MUST fight the proposed suspension last Thursday.

Thankfully, the following day, the champions decided to do so and have now rightly won their case – as we were confident they would,

A Hampden hearing was originally scheduled for yesterday before being pushed back to this afternoon and its outcome has put the 23-year-old attacker in the clear.
