‘BUZZING’ FORSTER IS ON THE BAWL

FRASER FORSTER admitted he was “buzzing” after his wonderful dramatic late save made certain Celtic would hold onto their 2-1 advantage over Lazio last night.

Ryan Christie and Christopher Jullien, with an 89th-minute header, had the Hoops ahead with the game deep into the five minutes of stoppage time at a tense Parkhead.

However, their good work would have been undone, but for the reflexes of the on-loan keeper in one spectacular moment in the fading seconds of an enthralling contest.

Danilo Cataldi hit a thunderous shot from 20 yards that was a blur the moment it left his boot.

However, the towering shotstopper took off on a breathtaking swoop to his right to beat the ball away to ensure the three points would remain in Glasgow.

Forster had earlier made another excellent stop from Marco Parolo as he played a major role in Neil Lennon’s side sitting on top of the group this morning with seven points.

Forster, speaking to the Evening Times, said: “To be fair, he [Cataldi] caught it so sweet I didn’t have any time to think about anything.

“It was purely a reaction save, I am just buzzing that I made it. To score so late to make it 2-1 it would have been heart-breaking to concede so late. That is what I came back for, to play in these games and have those moments again.

“Did it rekindle memories of Barcelona? Yeah, a little bit. Every match is different, but having had the 18 months I have had and the low points I’ve had to go through which one day I’ll chat about, to have a moment like that was something very special.

“The fans at the end, I can’t put it in words. I could bawl my eyes out.”
