NEIL LENNON has admitted he is open to a loan switch for Ivorian striker Vakoun Bayo.

St Mirren boss Jim Goodwin is interested in taking the £2million attacker to Paisley in a season-long temporary deal, as CQN reported yesterday.

The 23-year–old powerhouse frontman was on the Buddies’ radar during the January transfer window, but Lennon wasn’t interested in allowing him to move at that crucial stage of the campaign.

However, the Hoops gaffer has had a change of mind and admitted it is “something we may look at”.

Bayo is still battling a hamstring injury and was left out of the champions’ matchday squad for the 5-1 opening-day triumph over Hamilton Accies at Parkhead yesterday where Odsonne Edouard claimed a hat-trick and Jeremie Frimpong and Patryk Klimala pitched in with the others.

Asked about St Mirren’s interest in the frontman, Lennon, speaking to the Daily Record, replied: “I’m not aware of that. But it’s something we may look at.

“First things first, we need to get Vakoun fit and take it from there.”

Bayo, signed by Brendan Rodgers 18 months ago, still has two years left on his Hoops contract.

He has scored only four goals in his 16 first-team appearances and a loan could be the answer to get him up to speed.
