DESERT STORM: NO SFA ACTION AGAINST CELTIC

THERE will be NO action taken against Celtic for going ahead with their training camp trip to Dubai, despite calls from Nicola Sturgeon urging the SFA to investigate.

The champions were criticised in some quarters when they flew out on Saturday following their 1-0 loss at Ibrox.

The Hoops’ hierarchy had arranged five-day break for warm-weather training after getting the green light from the relevant authorities in November who sanctioned the move due to dispensation awarded to elite sports, as CQN reported earlier this morning.

First Minister Sturgeon expressed concern at the trip, but Scotland’s governing football body will not probe the club’s visit to the United Arab Emirates as they believe there is no case to answer, according to a report in the Daily Record.

With the Holyrood hot-air exercise out of the way, Celtic can now concentrate on their warm-weather training schedules before returning to the UK on Friday well in time for the Premiership clash with Hibs at Parkhead on Monday evening.
