FORSTER: CELTIC IN SHOCK NEW MOVE

CELTIC are planning a sensational swoop to sign Fraser Forster on a permanent basis.

The Hoops fans’ favourite is due to return to parent club Southampton when his loan deal expires tomorrow.

Until now, the nine-in-a-row champions have been in negotiations with the south coast club to extend the 32-year-old goalkeeper’s temporary transfer arrangement.

Now, though, Parkhead hierarchy are exploring ways of buying the six times-capped England international who still has two years to run on his lucrative deal with the Premier League outfit.

Cash-strapped Saints, who paid £10million to lure the towering shotstopper from Scotland’s title kings in August 2014, are ready to cut their losses, according to a report in the Scottish Sun.

Forster’s former England glove rival Joe Hart, who is leaving Burnley this week at the end of his contract, has also been linked with Neil Lennon’s side, as CQN reported.

However, Celtic’s summer priority signing is Forster who became key component in the side’s nine-in-a-row success in the previous campaign.

The skyscrpaper netminder turned in a Man-of-the-Match performance as Lennon’s side overcame Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox side in December.

Forster would be welcomed back to the Scots with open arms from the players, management and the supporters.
