GORDON OUT, GRIFFITHS IN

CRAIG GORDON will again sit out Celtic’s last Premiership game of the season as the title party gets underway against Aberdeen at Parkhead tomorrow.

Manager Brendan Rodgers is taking no chances with his international keeper and has one eye on the Scottish Cup Final against Motherwell a week today.

Gordon sustained a knee injury in the 1-0 win over Hibs in Glasgow on January 27, ironically, following a collision with former team-mate Efe Ambrose.

However, the man who scored the only goal that day, Leigh Griffiths, has returned to the squad for the Dons encounter and is still looking for two goals to complete the ton for the champions.

The Hoops frontman is back after recovering from the illness that has kept him out of the recent games against Hearts and Kilmarnock.

He now hopes to play a role in the team’s seventh successive championship celebrations.

Rodgers will be without hamstring victim Odsonne Edouard, but there are still hopes the 20-year-old attacker will sign a permanent deal at the club following his impressive season-long loan spell from Paris-Saint Germain.

Moussa Dembele is also in the 22-man pool, but last season’s 32-goal ace is more likely to start on the subs’ bench and make a cameo appearance with Rodgers again refusing to risk injury to the player.

He was withdrawn immediately during the second-half of the 3-1 win over Hearts last weekend as a precaution after his fellow-Frenchman Edouard had limped off. The powerful raider also sat out the midweek goalless draw against Kilmarnock.

The provisional squad:

Bain, De Vries, Lustig, Hendry, Gamboa, Boyata, Compper, Simunovic, Ajer, Tierney, Miller, Brown, Armstrong, Ntcham, Kouassi, Roberts, Forrest, McGregor, Rogic, Griffiths, Dembele and Sinclair.
