Yesterday’s CQN article on Henty was titled ‘Take Me to Your Paradise in the broadest hint we could give you at that stage.

The 19-year-old Nigerian striker is eager to quit Belgian outfit Eupen and move to Scotland after a heart-to-heart talk with his fellow-countryman Osaze Odemwingie.

Interestingly, Rodgers admitted yesterday: “We’ll see what happens. He is a fantastic player with big attributes.

“However, we will see how it develops over the next few days.”

A frustrated Onyekuru went AWOL after falling out with club bosses and missed the 2-2 draw with Standard Liege on Thursday night.

He said former Stoke City and West Brom star Odemwingie, now with Rotherham, advised him the style of the Scottish champions would suit him and he would be encouraged to show his attacking ability.

And the frontman was also reassured he wouldn’t encounter the difficulties in being granted a work permit as would be the case with the Premier League, where Liverpool have shown interest in him.

The 10-goal teenager said: “I am interested in joining Celtic because their offer is good.

“But also I am more convinced to join them after I got advice from ‘senior man’ Osaze Odemwingie.

“He told me Celtic will be the best for me now considering my style of play and securing work permit.”

Last season, Onyekuru helped Eupen gain promotion to the Belgian top league and his goalscoring and all-round play in this campaign has attracted Europe-wide attention.

German Bundesliga club Hoffenheim, French Ligue 1 club Nice, Turkish outfit Fenerbache and CSKA Moscow and, most recently, Liverpool have enquired about the pacy raider.

But last night Onyekuru was insisting he wanted to come to Scotland to join the Brendan Rodgers revolution.
