JULLIEN FACES YEAR OF INJURY HELL

CHRISTOPHER JULLIEN is facing a race against the clock to make sure he does not miss an ENTIRE YEAR of football.

The £7million French central defender injured a knee when he collided with a goal post in the 3-0 win over Dundee United at Parkhead on December 30.

There was no chance of the towering pivot returning during a wretched campaign for the Hoops where everything went wrong and Neil Lennon lost his job in February after an inexplicable 1-0 loss to relegation-threatened Ross County in Dingwall two days earlier.

Ange Postecoglou has acknowledged 28-year-old Jullien is still fighting to overcome the injury that saw him stretched off just before the turn of the year.

Originally, it was hoped the centre-back might return in October, but the manager admitted he does not know when to expect to see the player back in first-team action.

Postecoglou, speaking to BBC Sportsound, said: “He’s working hard, but he’s still very much on an individual programme.

“We have to be careful with these long-term injuries. We want to get Christopher back as best we can and for him to feel really comfortable.
“He’s still got a bit of rehab to do, so it’ll be a little while before we see him, but we can’t wait to get him back.”
