RODGERS HAILS DEMBELE, EDOUARD

BRENDAN RODGERS hailed Moussa Dembele and Odsonne Edouard as Celtic overcame Morton 3-0 at Parkhead.

The deadly French duo combined as the holders blasted their way into tomorrow night’s Scottish Cup semi-final draw.

After a dull first-half, Dembele netted twice to break the resistance of the stubborn Championship side and Edoaurd, who came on from Scott Sinclair after the break, thumped in the third.

The Hoops boss said: “Moussa was very good. You can see the threat and mobility he gives us, great power and great strength.

“He scored a good header and in the box he is always a real threat.

“Moussa was really cool with his penalty-kick, too.

“I think you can see he has that hunger back to score. In the second-half, like the rest of the team, he was much better.”

Rodgers added: “I thought Odsonne was very good, as well. He’s a young player I rate very highly.

“He can play in a number of positions and his link-up and hold up play was very good.

“I felt Odsonne and Dembele occupied the back four very well.”
