EX-CELT MALONEY AGREES ONE YEAR DONS DEAL

FORMER Celtic midfielder Shaun Maloney has agreed a one-year deal with Aberdeen.
The 34-year-old Scotland international comes out of contract at relegated Hull City tomorrow.
And his move to Pittodrie will be rubber-stamped when he goes through a medical at the outfit who were second to his former Hoops club in all three domestic competitions last season.
Maloney rejected the offer of a contract extension at the English Championship outfit to seal the deal with Derek McInnes’ side where he is likely to line up alongside Ryan Christie, on a season-long loan from the champions, in the new campaign.
Hibs boss Neil Lennon was also keen to be reunited with his former Parkhead team-mate.

But after several weeks of deliberation, Maloney has chosen to return home to the city where he grew up.

The 47-times capped star will become McInnes’ fourth signing of the summer following the capture of Greg Tansey on a pre-contract and loan deals for Birmingham’s Greg Stewart and Christie.
