‘McGINN IS A PLAYER I ADMIRE,’ HINTS DAVIES

CELTIC assistant boss Chris Davies has revealed Hibs midfielder John McGinn is a player he admires.
The Hoops No.2 confirmed Brendan Rodgers was looking to strengthen the squad to add to the £1.3million summer arrival of winger Jonny Hayes from Aberdeen.
McGinn, grandson of former Parkhead chairman Jack, has been linked with moves to the treble-winners and Ipswich Town since helping the Easter Road side win the Championship title and reach the Scottish Cup semi-final last season.
Davies admitted the hard-working 22-year-old was a player who had impressed Rodgers during the 2016/17 campaign. The Englishman said: “He’s a player I admire. Yes, I think he’s a good player.
“However, it is not fair for us to start speculating on bringing this player or that player when they belong to other clubs.

“He had a really good season last year and I’m aware of him being a really good player. That’s as far as that one goes.

“We know what we want and we’re working towards that.”
There has been numerous suggestions on social media that Celtic could move to sign McGinn and immediately loan him back to Hibs for the season.
If that did happen then it would mean that there would be a Celtic player playing in midfield for Aberdeen, Dundee and Hibs in the new season.
