TIERNEY, GRIFFITHS IN FITNESS FIGHT

KIERAN TIERNEY and Leigh Griffiths are stepping up their efforts to be fit for Celtic’s Premiership game against Ross County at Parkhead on Saturday.

First team coach John Kennedy admitted a decision will be delayed as long as possible on the injured duo.

However, he confirmed left-back Tierney was still receiving treatment following his withdrawal from the Scotland squad for the double-header against Costa Rica on Friday at Hampden and Hungary last night in Budapest.

Griffiths has been sidelined for two months following a calf injury sustained against Hibs at Parkhead on January 27 when he scored the only goal of the game.

Kennedy said: “Leigh’s back in training with the group again now.

“He’s been out for a period of time, so it’s just a case of getting him fit again and back on the pitch to help with the run-in.”Some of the guys who weren’t away such as Patrick Roberts and Marvin Compper have been training hard.

“Kieran is still receiving treatment, but, hopefully, we will know a bit closer to the game.”
