HOOPS-BOUND KID IN TWO-GOAL BLAST

CELTIC-BOUND Lewis Morgan fired in a two-goal salvo as promotion-chasing St Mirren walloped Dumbarton 5-0 and moved 14 points clear at the top of the Championship.

There was no stopping the £300,000 winger who was signed in January and immediately loaned back to the Paisley outfit to help their bid to get back into the Premiership.

Morgan scored the opener before Cammy Smith, Danny Mullen and Gavin Reilly got in on the spree.

The young Hoops star rounded off his team’s biggest league win of the season with a 25-yard effort high into the net.

It leaves Jack Ross’s men needing just eight points from their remaining seven league matches to make sure of the title and top-flight football for the first time since 2015.

The Saints boss said: “I thought we could have been better with some aspects of our game in the first-half, but after the interval we were good.

“Lewis Morgan is a matchwinner while Danny Mullen has had to be patient, but now supporters are starting to see the best of him.”
