CELTS CONFIRM LYON FRIENDLY AND IT’S ON YOUR SEASON TICKET

CELTIC have confirmed a friendly against French side Lyon at Parkhead on Saturday July 15. They have also confirmed that this match is included within your season ticket package and all cards will be activated for the game.

The Hoops have a busy pre-season schedule, with matches lined up continuing with Vienna Rapid tomorrow and then Slavia Prague, Shamrock Rovers and Sunderland.

However, Lyon’s visit to Glasgow will be Brendan Rodgers’ all-conquering heroes’ first appearance on home turf since celebrating their sixth successive Premiership title win last month.

The French outfit finished fourth in Ligue 1 last season and reached the semi-finals of the Europa League.

The teams last met in the Emirates Cup in London in 2010 which finished in a 2-2 draw.

Scott Brown and James Forrest are the only survivors from the 22-man squad that afternoon where Gary Hooper and Georgios Samaras netted for Neil Lennon’s side.
Celtic, of course, face the possibility of a Champions League qualifier against Linfield at Windsor Park the previous evening before the Lyon encounter.
The Belfast outfit are just 1-0 ahead of San Marino’s La Fiorita ahead of next week’s second leg.
