EX-CELT VIRGO BACKS NEW BHOY

FORMER Celt Adam Virgo has backed new Bhoy Kundai Benyu to be a hit at the Hoops.
Brendan Rodgers swooped to sign the Ipswich Town midfielder on a four-year deal yesterday.
And the versatile Virgo, who cost Gordon Strachan £1.2million when he joined from Brighton in 2005, has no doubts the 19-year-old playmaker will be a quality addition to the treble-winners’ first team squad.
The ex-Scotland B international, who spent three years at Parkhead, tweeted: “Celtic have signed a talented footballer in Kundai Benyu, so talented with the ball at his feet.
“Give the lad a chance he will do very well.
“Amazing move for Kundai, what a great move for him. Take it from me, you’re joining an amazing club, best of luck.”
Boss Rodgers has again exploited the cross-border contract rules which mean they can sign out-of-contract players under the age of 23 in England for reduced compensation.
The champions paid £500,000 in a development fee to Fulham for 32-goal striker Moussa Demble a year ago.
Benyu spent last season on loan at Aldershot Town and scored five goals in 22 games.
