‘WHY I BROKE THE RULES,’ AJER

KRISTOFFER AJER has admitted he broke the rules to celebrate 10-man Celtic’s dramatic 3-2 win at Ibrox.

The 19-year-old Norwegian defender was prevented by a steward from passing on his shirt to a young supporter.

But Ajer brushed the official aside and handed the gift to the kid.

He said: “When you are playing in front of so many people in such a big match, you forget some rules and the people who want to keep you away from the fans.

“I wanted to go to a boy who stood there, that’s how it should be.

“I just said I should deliver a strip. There were no consequences afterwards.

“I have no idea who the boy was. I just saw that he was a young Celtic supporter who was very happy.

“We usually give away shirts when there are so many supporters there to support us. It’s a nice gesture.

“The Celtic fans were voted the world’s best supporters last year. It really sums up the whole atmosphere.

“Nothing can be compared to our home stadium. When you play there you can not communicate. It’s wild.”

The versatile operator has been called into his nation’s senior squad for the first time and is likely to feature against Hoops team-mate Tom Rogic’s Australia and Albania.
