    Defenders do stupid things against them as there is a fear every time the ball goes in the box it will somehow result in a penalty. In the same way their defenders can throw themselves at any ball to block or make tackles as they know there’s no chance of a penalty.

    You’ll never hear me complain about tactics used by coaches and players to gain an advantage. Shirt pulling, time wasting, sleekit thuggery etc. Even Ange said the other day that every manager looks to gain an advantage by bending the rules.

     

    We have officials on and now off the park to curtail it. When they don’t do their job or are compromised, as they are most certainly in Scotland, is there any point in turning up.

    The second time Tavpen has missed the first soft pen, so gets another one.

     

     

    I would ask Alan from Celtic by Numbers to look at it but my guess is the Yorkshire whistler would generally concur. The more onerous task would be to see how many identical events are not given for other sides in the SPFL.

     

     

    I know we’ve seen a couple recently and this bizarre statistical anomaly needs highlighted in its own right.

    Interesting to see how Yang gets on starting another game. Has looked more effective coming on from the bench.

     

    Brendan said the other week we are in a period of grinding out results. A couple of early goals would be lovely.
