IT WAS trebles all round for Celtic in West Lothian yesterday as three goals from Paulo Bernardo, Matt O’Riley and Jamie Brandon (og) made sure three points were secured in a potentially dodgy fixture.
The Hoops celebrated their third win over Livingston this season, following the 3-0 victory at the same venue in September and the 4-2 success in the Scottish Cup at Parkhead last month.
Coincidentally, it was the club’s third consecutive 3-0 triumph at the Tony Macaroni Arena with the sequence kicking off in October 2022.
NUMBER ONE…Shamal George is beaten as the rebound from team-mate Jamie Brandon beats him after a wonderful save from Reo Hatate (extreme left). Matt O’Riley, Nicolas Kuhn and Daizen Maeda look on.
NUMBER TWO…Paulo Bernardo is walking on air after his tremendous strike.
NUMBER THREE…Matt O’Riley completes the 3-0 triumph.
Now Brendan Rodgers’ men are looking at another special hat-trick at Ibrox on Sunday – the third derby victory of the campaign.
A flash of genius from Kyogo Furuhashi settled the first all-Glasgow encounter in Govan in September and the Japanese international frontman also produced a moment of magic to conjure the winner in the east end of Glasgow just before the turn of the year.
The pacy striker whipped in a stunning left-foot shot from outside the box that left Jack Butland clawing fresh air after on-loan Portuguese ace Bernardo had opened the scoring with a ferocious volley in the first-half.
Another three points are up for grabs in six days time, but, courtesy of those good folk at Celtic TV Unique Angle, let’s look again at the goals that took care of business in West Lothian.
Please enjoy!
