Lots of huff and puff from the Dons. Few chances created.

    Thoroughbreds against carthorses.

    Irrespective of the score.

  2. Posted this yesterday and cheat with whistle confirms.

    AULDHEID

Aberdeen will play with a more aggressive tone against us than they did with toothless sevco.

On Wednesday at county you could see how tight their central defenders were to Celtics forwards due to understanding the tolerance given to Celtic’s opponents.

The same defenders whose toes are in the heel of Celtic players boots would be a yard of the huns.

Aberdeen understood this when they played the huns and allowed them plenty of space even in last third as they knew the only potent weapon the huns had was Tavernier’s free kicks.

I expect Aberdeen will employ a tighter more physical approach than the one used against the huns.

  3. So Erik gets a yellow for his first tackle, when a wee word would have done. Ref couldn’t wait to book him.

The sheepish are being very physical to say the least, yet haven’t had a card, unless I am wrong?

Of course these things will even out over a few millennia . . .

The fact BT aren’t showing the game, so Chris Sutton isn’t commenting on it, probably helps.

  5. Need more from Forrest. It looks as though he’s been asked to move infield but it’s not working.

  6. Eric booked very quickly. Does anyone know how many fouls Aberdeen are allowed before McLean books any of them? Usual MIBBERY.

Love to see that we are not intimidated and able to give as good as we get.

I have the strange impression that we will end up with ten .

    The ultimate leveller.

  8. Team looking really solid today back to front.. Izzy slotted in like he’s never been out. What a pro. Centre halves are the best we have had in a while. Tom Rogic is a class above in midfield.

Aberdeen pitch looks in immaculate condition and suits our game. Looking forward to the second half

It’s not a thing that I thought I would be saying, but all the contributors on Shortbread are commenting on the fact that after booking Eric early on, he has not booked Aberdeen players for similar offences.

    It’s weird to hear it.

  10. STARRY…

Happy birthday bhud and many hoopy returns.

Did yi get yir telegram from ow Liz the Sevco fan?? ;))

    Into them Celtic.

  11. Enjoying his game. Quite a good contest. Sublime finish from Rogic. Delicious.

    One concern. Fouls.

According to BBC 11 for Aberdeen and 5 for us. That doesn’t include those were the ref waved play on. So add another 3 at leat to their total.

    But no yellow card.

Not long after Erik was booked, Brown was brought down in a similar position, breaking forward. Should have been a yellow. Ref has forgotten about the team foul count. Especially on Rogic.

Let’s score early this half and relax.

  13. Starry, Happy birthday BTW, Are you sure it wisnae the Citizen?

Found this last night as I was rakin’ and readin’ through the auld mementos.

The competition was 2 or 3 days after the ‘tic wiped the floor with Leeds at Hampden.

Although we were on our way to the European cup final, the SMSM had to lump the Huns in the same competition….some things never change – Eh!

I remember at the time asking my old man that if I won, How would they know what prize to send me?

In the end I used Celtic as my middle name :-)
