CONFIRMED: JULLIEN, TURNBULL POISED TO RETURN

1

CHRISTOPHER JULLIEN and David Turnbull are both standing by to face St Johnstone in the crucial Premiership encounter at Parkhead tomorrow.

The towering French defender was left out of the side that lost 4-2 to AC Milan in the San Siro in the meaningless Europa League Group H match on Thursday.

Jullien missed 15 games after sustaining a back injury in the 5-0 win over Ross County at the start of September, but came back in the 4-1 loss against Sparta Prague in the Czech capital before struggling in the Betfred League Cup exit against the Dingwall outfit on Sunday.

Neil Lennon rested his £7million centre-back against the Serie A leaders, but he will almost certainly take the place of Nir Bitton against the Perth side.

Midfielder Turnbull, who has been used sparingly since his summer arrival from Motherwell, is also in line for an appearance after testing positive for coronavirus while on duty with the Scotland Under-21 squad.

Lennon, speaking to the Daily Record, said: “He’s done all of his testing, his heart testing and his physical testing.

“He has also done his isolation, he’s done all of the tests, so he should be available.”

Attackers Mohamed Elyounoussi and Leigh Griffiths missed out in Milan, but both are being assessed by the club’s medical team ahead of tomorrow’s kick-off.

Both have been included in the provisional squad for the visit of the Perth outfit who made life tough in October before Griffiths headed in the breakthrough goal in the last minute and Patryk Klimala addeda second in stoppage time.

Provisional squad:

Scott Bain, Vasilis Barkas, Conor Hazard, Hatem Abd Elhamed, Christopher Jullien, Shane Duffy, Kristoffer Ajer, Nir Bitton, Stephen Welsh, Diego Laxalt, Greg Taylor, Scott Brown, Olivier Ntcham, Callum McGregor, Ismaila Soro, Ewan Henderson, David Turnbull, Ryan Christie, Tom Rogic, Mohamed Elyounoussi, Karamoko Dembele, Odsonne Edouard, Leigh Griffiths, Albian Ajeti and Patryk Klimala.
