Victims of Rangers rampant vanity

157

Millionaires are immune from the most severe consequences of redundancy but well down the list of sorry human tales to walk away from Rangers today are likely to a whole lot of people on low paid jobs they are no longer able to retain.  They will become victims of rampant vanity, victims of Rangers.  It doesn’t matter which team they support, or how they feel about you or Celtic,  I hope they all find work soon.

    Gordon_J, yes, difficult times.

Garngad to Croy, well, I suppose we did win the European Cup and 9-in-a-row, setting an unattainable standard for them to aim at.

Billy’s Bhoy, staff retained after 14 days receive elevated creditor status but it means little in these circumstances.

jude2005, we did that just to annoy you :-)

Jungle Jim, we’re taking time to mention those on low pay who will lose their jobs as we expect to be busy talking about the event which brought this to a conclusion very soon.

Have a day off pal! Lets enjoy revelling in a glorious season then we can turn to the serious business of re-routing the buses.

These are issues the club will not be neglecting, I am sure.

Thanks for that chaps. I was completely unaware that football authorities owned copyright on fixture lists. I wonder how much income they have earned from these copyrights and how much they are bound to lose if they lose this case.

Its hard to believe that every media, website or company who use these fixture lists has to pay the individual league to use them. It does stench of greed.

Pay them the ticket money? Of course we should pay them the ticket money.

  8. Any news on when the Big Big tax case result will be published?

Someone should point out to Keevins that if Celtic were to Pay £300K to RFCIA and the tax case is announced say tomorrow and RFCIA are liquidated on Saturday then we would lose our £300K. Would he for instance if he was buying a TV from a company that was in administration stump up the money for the TV early just to help that company out, when there is a huge risk that the company could disappear before he gets his TV. No he would not like any other person with a brain cell.

I cannot understand why Clyde give him air time! Probably just to wind me up.

    Well done, Paul.

You set exactly the right tone for such happenings as we are currently witnessing. Wanting to see Rangers pay for their long litany of misdeeds, cheating & supremacist arrogance, should not spill over into taking satisfaction at working people losing their livelihood. That is sad enough at any time, but far worse in today’s austerity. Many of those who will suffer have little feeling for me or my likes.

No matter. WE are not THEM. We must not ever act or speak like THEM.

    We are not THE PEOPLE.

We are just people,.. most of us with enough flaws of our own to let us judge our stricken neighbours with more charity than we have received from THEM.

Abe Lincoln once said,’ If we had been born where they were born, & taught what they were taught,.. we would speak & act as they do.’

    Tin hat on here.

Don’t normally defend Keevins but he did say that if Celtic were not paying because they had doubts as to whether the game would go ahead then they were correct in their decision, but that they should make the reason public.

Of course, as soon as we do they will say we are gloating / mischief making or dancing on the Rankers’ grave

I would imagine that the honest hardworking folks who are employed by such a national institution which is a huge part of the fabric of scottish society, will have all the vocal support of government and blanket cover to cover condemnation from the national media that their plight deserves……………..Surely!

Did I see a wee “walk away” there:)

  15. It is unlikely Rangers’ administrators will make an announcement on potential redundancies on Thursday, STV understands.

A statement is expected from Duff and Phelps shortly, which will confirm no decision will be relayed until at least Friday.

It is understood that administrators Paul Clark and David Whitehouse are still discussing plans over which cuts will have to be made at the club, as they attempt to bring running costs under control.

Rangers’ first team squad will hold further discussions with PFA Scotland on Thursday, seeking further advice on what will happen next at Ibrox

They really are doing their best for Liquidation to kick in…

He’s trying to be cute here – Celtic cannot, legally in as much as I understand, state that in public and he knows it full well.

What Celtic can state is: Jelly and Ice Cream at Craig’s.

  18. Just a wee reminder that the odious Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Act comes into force today.

“The new laws create two new distinct offences, punishable through a range of penalties up to a maximum five-year prison sentence:

The first offence targets any offensive and threatening behaviour expressed at and around football matches which is likely to cause public disorder.

The second offence relates to the communication of threats of serious harm or which are intended to stir up religious hatred on the internet or other communications.”

    What is there to enjoy?

DM’s ego coming crashing to the ground – maybe?

The TFOD collapsing in some terrible implosion – not news anymore.

Football writers ludge having a nervous breakdown – mocking the afflicted?

Not really my bag – Sorry not for me.

It is interesting, what the end point will be – who will buy what / who will lose what?

However it is all getting a bit boring, the thrill has gone.

There is no spectacle in watching clueless idiots acting like clueless idiots.

CW is a sideshow, DM is where the action is.

Consequently is it does not involve DM / Speculative Society then not interested.

Now where did I put my bus timetable.

  23. Having gone through redundancy twice now, (3 times and I get to keep the company?) I have some sympathy for the working class workers. Then I think…………..If I was working for a business that had a well known discriminatory employment policy and beliefs, and I was happy to work with them… I’d probably have the same discriminatory beliefs.

  24. Sad that anyone ( not millionaires ) lose their job in these austere times, but I for one will not be sorry for the rank and file at Ibrokes or murray mire. If it is to be believed that most of these people have been there for years, then they will be the same people who would shout abuse at a 13 year old bhoy ( my son ) for wearing the hoops whilst delivering the times for Advocaat who actually treated him with respect

Even the wee prick at the gate of murray mire was at it until I had a word in his repulsive ear. As someone who lives in this area and knows some of the rank and file that work I have no sympathy what so ever. My sympathies lie with the decent Celtic fans who are losing their jobs sometimes only because of who they support.

Let them die the sooner the better in my honest opinion.
