Brown, a former Celtic captain, cites one active player he’d prefer to team up with

SCOTT BROWN, the former Celtic captain, was promoting his show at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow with Mikael Lustig by giving a press conference.

Moreover, Brown shared his admiration for Japan international Reo Hatate and Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

He wished he could have played with Reo in the middle of the park, saying: “Absolutely. He’s got a lot of pep in his step, and it would have been nice to play with him as I got older so that he could have taken over some of my running duties. Kyogo is the type of player who keeps a grin on his face the entire time. I find their enthusiasm fascinating to observe. Jota appears to be having fun on the field as well.

“It is good that they have made that turnaround, and the board has backed the manager, which is fantastic.”

To paraphrase: You back the manager, and he has the quality to come in as well. His ability to recruit is unparalleled.

Celtic fans will be able to offer the manager of Fleetwood Town a “proper goodbye” at a scheduled event.

Tickets to watch Brown and Lustig on May 18 at Glasgow’s OVO will benefit the Celtic FC Foundation.

The Foundation’s CEO, Tony Hamilton, has said: “This is set to be an extraordinary event, centring two brilliant personalities in our Club’s historian Scott Brown and Mikael Lustig – and I’m delighted to see more distinguished guests revealed as we approach May 18.

“Against the backdrop of a cost of living crisis, the Celtic FC Foundation is extremely appreciative to Shaun Ennis, Scott, and Mikael for this fantastic show of support, which will significantly influence our efforts to combat poverty and advance social inclusion. I’d want to extend my gratitude to all of our guests for coming out to support us on what will undoubtedly be an unforgettable night.”
