CELTIC FANS’ FESTIVE BLOW

2

CELTIC have been told their ticket allocation has been cut for the Premiership meeting with St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park on Boxing Day.

When the Hoops visited the 10,740-capacity Perth ground near the end of the 2019/20 season, the supporters had full access to three stands. However, the Parkhead club have confirmed they will not receive their anticipated quota for the Festive fixture.

Celtic have allocated briefs to season ticket holders who have attended two league away matches in this campaign. There was also a ballot among those who have attended one game on their travels.

This will be the third head to head between the teams this term with Ange Postecoglou’s men looking to maintain their 100 per cent record.

Goals from Giorgos Giakoumakis, his only strike for the club since his £2.5million summer arrival from Dutch outfit VVV-Venlo, and Croatian international defender Josip Juranovic, with his second successful penalty-kick, gave the home side a 2-0 win and three points in Glasgow in October.

Substitute James Forrest was the goal hero in the Premier Sports League Cup semi-final at Hampden 11 days ago to set up a silverware showpiece with Hibs at the national stadium on Sunday December 19.

The McDiarmid Park confrontation, which will be screened live by Sky Sports, has a 12.30pm kick-off.
