I loved media suggestions today that Sports Direct have a fight on their hands from other firms if they want their brand used to rename Ibrox. You have to admire the intellectual endeavour that goes into news coverage in this country. Sports Direct area THE key business partner for The Rangers. The only issue open to question is how much skin they are in the game for and what they get in return. Remember this when you’re buying sports kit for Christmas!

Besides that all I can say is that I have spent a fair few nights in Montrose– and very few of them were sober. I was there for one of the Evander Holyfield V Riddick Bowe fights– but sufficient drink was taken to render useless any guess as to which fight it was.
I also know a woman who stays in Montrose whose grandfather had a barbers shop on what is now Springfield Road. His back shop was the scene for a few meetings between locals where they discussed the idea for forming a football team in the east end of Glasgow! It was meetings like this that culminated in the meeting of 6th November 1887.

This is the crux of the arguement.
For us, new company=new club=TRFC.
Them, new company=old club=RFC.
That’s how basic it is!
Now, all we have to get is the SFA to confirm which one is true.

my answer would be “because that washed up organisation is charged with ensuring fair play for Celtic and all other teams in our leagues. If they are willing to lend their name to this commercial fantasy of a liquidated club starting back with its own history, then I am distrustful of their ability to administer a fair competitive structure in which we could participate with any trust.”
In short, if they do not correct the impression of Rangers/Sevco continuity, we need to find another sporting body under whose auspices we can perform with trust.

Had a discussion today with a chap from The Herald. They want to be seen as the Scottish paper of record he told me. I said how can ANYONE in Scotland believe that when they can’t or won’t admit that they died and that it is a new club playing at Ibrox. We know this is the case. The Zombies know they died and everyone else in Scotland knows it to be true. The Scottish media are tainted by their denial of the facts.
Oh did anyone hear Hearts fan Nicky Campbell on national radio 5 Live this morning talking about them being “demoted” after going into “administration” – 100% he knows that this is rubbish but he sells it to the rest of the UK.
