IT’S DERBY DAY IN SCOTTISH CUP FINAL

CELTIC will face Philippe Clement’s side in the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden on Saturday May 25.

The Ibrox side booked their place in the showpiece encounter with a 2-0 win over Hearts at the national stadium this afternoon.

Cyriell Dessers was his team’s main man as he claimed a goal in each half in a scrappy last-four confrontation. Amazingly, the Govan club have now beaten Steven Naismith’s outfit five times in this campaign.

The holders, of course, made certain after a dramatic penalty-kick shoot-out triumph over Aberdeen yesterday.

BRING IT ON…Joe Hart will take his final bow in the Scottish Cup showdown against Ibrox opposition at Hampden on May 25.

Keeper Joe Hart took the spotlight with a miss from the spot, but he made amends with a crucial stop from Killian Phillips to give Brendan Rodgers’ side a 6-5 victory after the match had finished 3-3 following extra-time.

Bojan Miovski gave the Dons the lead inside two minutes, but Nicolas Kuhn replied before James Forrest lashed the Hoops into the lead in the 63rd minute just moments after replacing Yang Hyun-jun.

Ester Sokler levelled in the 90th minute to force an extra half-hour in which Matt O’Riley struck to put the Parkhead club back in front.

Remarkably, Aberdeen equalised for a second time in the fading moments of extra-time through Angus MacDonald to push the game to spot-kicks.

Hart was the Celtic hero and he will now make his final appearance for the club in the Glasgow derby at Hampden next month.

The clubs also meet in the league at Parkhead a fortnight earlier. The champions have already won two and drawn one of the previous three meetings this term.
