‘I’VE HEARD NOTHING,’ ANGE DISMISSES JURANOVIC TALK

ANGE POSTECOGLOU dismissed the most recent speculation concerning Josip Juranovic with Chelsea now said to be interest in Celtic’s right-back.

CQN yesterday scoffed at the £8million price tag that had been placed on the 27-year-old Croatian World Cup star by the London media when we drew comparisons with the defender and Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bassaka, 25, who cost a whopping £50million when he joined from Crystal Palace in 2019.

Juranovic has just returned from his exertions in Qatar on behalf of his third-placed nation and was an unused substitute in the 4-0 win over Hibs at Easter Road last night.

BHOY OH BHOY…Josip Juranovic and Alexandro Bernabei indulge in their very own Celtic huddle on the substitutes’ bench during the 4-0 win over Hibs at Easter Road.

Reo Hatate again filled in at the No.2 slot, but if Anthony Ralston fails to respond to treatment, it is odds-on the international star will be in the team to face Michael Beale’s side in the Glasgow derby at Ibrox on Monday.

Asked again about speculation, Postecoglou, speaking to the Daily Mail, responded: “I can say I’ve heard nothing.

“Nothing’s happened. As I said a week or so ago, the speculation is what it is.

“What I know is we are in a really good space as a club. Going into January, we have already strengthened and, hopefully, we’ll strengthen further.
“I’m in no doubt that by the end of January we’ll have a stronger squad than we did going into it.”

Latest name to be linked with a move to Parkhead is Rosenborg’s Danish striker Casper Tengstedt, 22, who has scored 15 goals in 14 appearances for the Norwegian outfit this season.
