JOY RODGERS IN PURSUIT OF THE PERFECT TEN

0
BRENDAN RODGERS will protect a flawless Hampden record in the Scottish Cup semi-final against Aberdeen tomorrow afternoon.
The 51-year-old Northern Irishman will also be pursuing the perfect ten against the Pittodrie club following nine successive triumphs in his previous visits to the national stadium in his first stint as Celtic manager.
The laudable sequence of success kicked off with a 1-0 victory over Ibrox opposition, then bossed by Mark Warburton, in the League Cup semi-final on October 23 2016.
THE FIRST OF SEVEN…Brendan Rodgers proudly holds aloft the newly-won League Cup after the 3-0 victory over Aberdeen in November 2016. Six other honours followed in a glorious sequence of success.
Rodgers brought down the curtain at the venue after enjoying another 1-0 victory in the same competition.
On this occasion, a strike by Ryan Christie was enough to deliver the trophy after a hard-fought encounter with Derek McInnes’ Dons side on December 2 2018.
The glory trail at the Glasgow south side arena saw Rodgers win five consecutive Cups to go with his two Premiership titles in an unparalleled run of silverware triumphs.
