AARON MOOY is preparing to make his 21st appearance for Celtic against Ross County at Parkhead this afternoon.

The World Cup-bound Australian midfielder is still waiting for his first goal in the Hoops – but is aiming for a hat-trick against Malky Mackay’s Highlanders before he heads off for the great Qatar adventure.

Mooy, who signed a two-year deal in August as a free agent, played in both previous away victories over the Dingwall team in August – 3-1 in the Premiership and 4-1 in the League Cup.

ANCHORMAN…Aaron Mooy patrols the midfield.

The 32-year-old anchorman is aiming to leave for the soccer showpiece in the Middle East as a winner when the champions play their last game in the east end of Glasgow until Livingston visit on Wednesday December 21.

Mooy said: “It’s going to be a tough game. We’ve played them away twice and we’ve put in good performances, but they’re coming to Celtic Park and they’re going to give everything.

“So, we have to be ready and try to play our football and to play at our best to give ourselves the best chance to take the points.

“I think we’ve done well recently, but there are lots of good players here, that anyone can play, and we just try to link up as well as we can with each other.”

Mooy, speaking to Celtic TV, added: “We’ve had a very busy schedule with so many games recently and we’ve just been focusing on the games one-by-one.

“Every game is not going to be easy. When a team plays Celtic, they want to beat us. We know that and also we want to play well for our fans.

“It’s another important game and we have to put in a good performance and do everything to take the points.”
