BRENDAN RODGERS enjoyed his TWELFTH victory in 15 derby duels as wonder strikes from Paulo Bernardo and Kyogo Furuhashi sent Philippe Clement’s Ibrox outfit to a 2-1 defeat at Parkhead just before the turn of the year.
The 51-year-old Irishman has also had two draws and a solitary defeat in his previous derby encounters over his two stints in charge of the Hoops.
Rodgers readily admits his passion for these city confrontations – and no wonder.
He has watched his team pile on the misery with THIRTY-FOUR goals while conceding just eight in a stunning sequence of success.
GOAL-DEN MOMENT…a delighted Brendan Rodgers salutes Kyogo Furuhashi’s glorious winner in the 2-1 derby success at Parkhead on December 30 2023.
After an exile of four years and nine months, Rodgers resumed hostilities in this fixture when he took the Hoops across the city for the first Glasgow duel of the season in Govan on Sunday September 3.
In front of a partisan 50,000 crowd, the second time-around boss enjoyed another victory courtesy of a sensational volley from Kyogo – the same player who lashed in the points-clincher in the east end of Glasgow yesterday.
