SFA lawyers examine illegal registration responses

1119

BBC today revealed that the SFA’s legal team are examining responses from the Associations 93 clubs to a letter dated 9 March, which reminded clubs of their responsibility to record financial records with the SFA and asking them to declare they have complied over the last 10 years.

The inquiry was established after reports that Rangers had illegally registered players for over a decade, excluding payments which were not taxed.  We can presume that as the legal team are investigating, there was at least one response which returned a noncompliance.

The SFA issued a deadline for responses of 6 April and under Article 86.1 any club not responding in a timely manner would be in breach, so it’s unclear why it has taken over two months to get to this stage, so why the legal team are only “examining responses”.

We look forward to hearing an early comment on this crucial matter from the executive.  It is enormously unfortunate that the SFA were unable to inform their AGM of the findings on Wednesday. BBC report that the Association legal team have yet to report to the Compliance Officer, which is the next step.

John Gordon from Airdrie ( massive MIB) didn’t award a penalty when John Greig broke Bobby Lennox’s leg at greyscull. ………………………………Also seem to remember Celtic players threatening to walk off the park at Ipox when the MIB awarded a Celtic penalty only to change his mind when all the hoops players stopped. Greig ran up the park unchallenged and some hun scored………

    All our yesterdays, eh ?

  4. That has to go down as one of the MIB’s top 5 decisions ever, Albearz on Lambo, and I can remember a hun in work on the Monday sayin he should have been sent aff. Should of seen his face when I said I thought Albertz should at least have been booked. They see with something between their ears but its not their eyes.

    HT,

so many incidents, Mahe, Maloney, etc.

I often wonder if it was, in part, what made the Lions great. They had to win despite all of this; convincingly. I remember having conversations with a few of them at one of the conventions in Letterkenny years ago; that was certainly the view from some, but others reckoned they would have done it anyway.

    ——–

Not sure if it’s the worst MIB decision ever but it was certainly the decision which convinced me , beyond any doubt , that the cynicism of my elders and betters wasn’t the paranoia it was branded but a reasonable and , indeed, inevitable conclusion based on years of evidence before their very eyes.

Nothing I have witnessed personally since then changes that view. Quite the opposite.

Picking the the top three worst decisions is like picking your top three favourite movies or songs. So many choices that it changes daily and the list of options gets longer as I get older.

  15. Haven’t read back toooo far but I was shocked by that ref perf wi Greece. Thought i was watching us vs Orcs. Very poor!

  20. Kanchelskis fouls Mahe, sliding, scything tackle as he was in box and about to cross. No pen say McCluskey.

Lennon clear as day fouled. Thomson – naw.

Lovenkrand’s nine point nine against Thommo.

    So many bad decisions…

They can’t be worse than the birds in Newcastle. The nicest thing I could say is that some of them had their own teeth and that most of their tattoos were spelled correctly!!

  23. What would be nice next season would be for us to lose to say, Aberdeen and Hibs and to be disappointed and irked.

However, there hopefully wouldn’t be that accompanying nausea realising that the huns are 3 points better off as a result of this defeat.

  24. It was Kenny Clark the spineless ref that denied Celtic a stonewall penalty when Lennon was chopped down. 1 nil to Celts at time – game ended 1-1.

All refs makes mistakes and in most countries that would cost them finals or gradings

Here they are rewarded with finals (eg Davis) and/or office jobs (Dallas).

  25. I see Green is now urging the Huns to “lobby” HMRC.

Jeez, where do you start with these guys? How exactly does he expect them to “lobby”. Pan in their windaes? Send a bullet in the post? Post a home-made bomb???

Truly shocking, after everyhitng their fans have been responsible for this year. They are plumbing the depths as the end-day nears.

On the plus side, clearly their is no “deal” “sanctioned at the top levels of the Treasury”…
