Solid CL performers, realisation dawns at Ibrox

971

I remember some disparaging comment from sections of the Scottish sporting media regarding Mikael Lustig’s performances for Sweden at Euro 2012.  Mikael had only recently joined Celtic and was still finding his feet in Scotland.  In short, we didn’t have enough information to make an informed judgement before the Euros.  We do now.

His energy levels, speed, height, crossing and general levels of performance has been remarkably high and consistent.  Sweden handed him the job of subduing one of the world’s top three players at their recent World Cup qualifier in Portugal, Ronaldo was shackled, scoring only when he left Mikael’s area of the field.

There is a notion that this type of player, who can perform solidly at Champions League and international level, but who we can convince to renew his contract, is more important than the more stellar performers, who have an eye on the exit door.

Adam Matthews timely return from injury will compensate for Mikael’s absence as he recuperates post-op, but we’ve never looked as effective on the right since both of them were fully fit.

The reaction to yesterday’s AGM at Ibrox has been surprising, mostly as it surprised anyone.  The outcome has been a forgone conclusion for weeks (if not months), while the realisation of what the future is going to look like for Newco has finally dawned on a few.

A generation brought up to believe in sugar daddies will have to learn: expenditure must equal or be less than income over any given business cycle.

In this respect, I cannot figure why fans are so unhappy with the Newco board, whose central failing has been to spend far too much money on wages for a manager and players.  From what I hear, no one at the AGM demanded football budget is cut to an appropriate level.

As their new chairman said, costs will be cut; doing so is a financial imperative.  The current Rangers might play in the same colours as its liquidated predecessor, but things will never – eeeeeeeever – be the same again.

This afternoon is the final pre-Christmas posting time if you want your CQN Annual before the day:

I agree with you. I find it highly unlikely that Sammi has been offered a reduction in wages.

That said. It may be time for him to move on. His performances this year have been more sproradic, less influential, particularly in Europe where teams seem to have got wise to him and just double or triple team him. Maybe if we had players that would offer him more options on receiving the ball, that he wouldn’t try and do it all himself is another matter.

If he leaves, then it is with thanjks from this tim.

Incidently, and it adds not a jot to the debate, Richard Lochhead MSP is not from the north-east, he’s from Paisley, told me himself.

  3. Blagged my mate’s season ticket for the Pool v Cardiff later.

Love going to Anfield as always find football fans on Merseyside (Blue or Red) very similar in their passion for their teams to Hoops fans.

Lots of similarities between Scousers and Weegies.Lots of empathy with Celtic fans and their constant struggles v the Establishment.

Celtic and Liverpool are my idea of what football clubs should be all about.

Yes I miss St. Paul’s and the people I knew there. I also miss St. Peter’s, Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, midnight mass in Corpus Christi, but most of all I miss St. Simon’s by the cross and all the people I never knew there.

I miss Loch Lomond, the Rock, the Wickets, the Smiddy, The Dolphin, the Art Galleries, the Mitchell library and the Byres Road, especially the Oasis if it is still there.

I don’t miss the Glasgow police, evil fat pies, fish and chip shops, the bigotry, A&E at the Western Infirmary and slush after snow.

    Do I know you?

It is almost Christmas and I would rather not put into print what I think about Celtic at the moment. It would not be nice reading.

But think about this one, this is two boots in the plums.

Without proof, Celtic were judge and jury on the Green Brigade, without proof.

They offered them moved or to refund the worth of their season tickets.

Now this is the really sick part…

They then offered the empty seats to charity….

  15. Petec you think that KLF group where against the system? Yet Corporatist Reverse communist NME magazine often gave them high praise indeed. You go on about esoteric symbolism, they where as reeked in it as the likes of JZ. If they where against the system they’d be dead like many other musicians who decided to quit, reading on wikipedia they where discordiants, don’t you know in the elders of zion book, or the communist manifesto of america their various pointed plans for a one world government involves unleashing the nihilists and atheists and then once the world cowers at the lack of faith they will come crashing in as nights in shinning armour (although in the case of the communists manifesto of america it stops at the creation of an atheist state). I often wonder why banks have links to alleged left wing organizations, and then it all made sense. We get communism for the vast majority of us, so it appears the rich are screwed, certainly the multi millionaires will be, yet the billionaires, trillionaires will be left in control of a pseudo communist regime where the wealth is redistributed upwards to the bankers. Much like orwells hell of 1984. I’m not stupid enough to know if Orwell was a whistle blower, an esoteric who turned his back on it, or was merely revealing what is to come, in a typical “hidden in plain sight” but I do know that the reason is irrelevant, we can take it as warning of what is planned regardless if we know Orwell’s exact and true motives for writing what he did, and not just what the media wish us to believe. If you want a fairer more equal and humane society communism is not the way to go, we need a leftist egalitarian philosophy free from secular humanism, and esp esoteric mysticism, because engles used the sweet in his writing to divert attention away from the dire which funilly enough shares a lot of philosophy with various esoteric sects and humanism… Although like Bonnepart no doubt engles thought he could control the esoteric sects he was probably apart of, but of course you can’t.

I appreciate good music for what it is. I doubt the character of any one who gets to be a pop star, although I know their is a lot of coercion and threats against them from the beast of a record industry that created them. Atheists should be agains illuminatism, sadly many of them are not (at least the useful idiots that speak online), are only to willing to discourage the real threat to the lifes of billions of people on the planet of all faiths and none, all they do is quote the myth that said ancient order of illuminated and wise men was in fact merely a secular peace loving organization… its quite sad really.

Kitalba, I’m delighted ye dinnae understand what I mean, I’m more unique on CQN than any other, I reckon, well Kojo is definitely ostracised by many but he is a devout Catholic, and I believe he is. I think Kojo is the best poster on here because he has detatched the emotional side of Celtic. I knew this very early, Kojo never kicked a baw at all but he is incisive in his analysis of Celtic players. Me, I get FAR too attached to players and Love them way too much, especially the really bad ones who get selected.

  21. When I said discouraging I meant Discounting. The worst kind are yon sheep who admit its all estoric symbols we see all the time but masonic and illuminatism controll of the world doesn’t really exist. I’m amazed at the level of blindess by people that must be at serious cognitive dissonance to one hand admit the sheer presance of estoric religious symbols we see all around us, and on the other hand say “but said group died oot in 17xx because said founder of a group more secretive than the masons said it did.. Take it their where no more nazis either after hitler died….” Its really sad some let their hatred for christianity or islam etc blind them to truth and willing to believe any illogical crap the media tells them too, and how little critical and independent evaluation these people are capable. A conspiracy theorist is just an enlightened (wish those b’s didnt corrupt the meaning of “light”…) critical analytical thinker, who says what they sees and comes to beleive in a theory after themselves being highly sceptical of said theory. Of course one theory that’s nonsense is that “its the space Lizards are behind it all”.. classic Disinfo tactics right their from the estoric HUMANS that control our world….

Didn’t know Clydebank very well when I lived in Glasgow as your tourist board were not very good back then and I never felt the urge to go there apart from Kilbowie Park to watch the Hoops.

Always had the impression that it was a hotbed of Celticness and that the natives had Celticitis.

  26. Ah nice analogy ryecatcher. I’d say a lot more than twice but I get your point :)

Personally im against inde-pendants the worse kind of mason would get power than the kind currently in power. Ones more tainted by illuminsim. It may be a strange reason to be against it but its my reason, it makes sense to me and over 100 years or less wise folk would see what I mean and that I was absolutely right.
