Great first half and St J trying to make a game of it. Front three are making good connections with fine movement and touches.
Find it intriguing as to how Izzie at his best could combine with Armstrong and how you go about testing / exercising that.
VVD and Denayer losing a little concentration but what’s not too like, glad I am not Guidetti, then again, can I be just for one game ! He must be gutted not to be in the mix of this game.

Decent game. We could have had a few more but Saints have given it a go. GMS looking good, even on another poor pitch. Another goal should seal the win.
Armstrong looks the business but…
Biton slack and Johanssen very poor.
Hope we can raise our game second half. Saints will tire. Certainly isn’t Inter Milan-beating form so far though.

Good first half. The poor pitch does us no favours.
GMS buzzing and Bitton having some fine touches. Not quite the heights of the last few games. If we get a second I can see us getting a few more. Saints not out of it at all, yet
The SPL should do something about these pitches, either put money aside to improve them or pay for all teams to have artificial pitches laid.

Celtic in control thanks to the early goal against St Johnstone.
Much more physical game and three points with no injuries is the aim.
Hope the game opens up a bit in the second half but any win will do, in the lead up to the Inter game.
Griffiths took his goal well, but expect Guidetti to join the attack to take the weight of St Johnstone’s putting it about.
StJ are bound to run out of gas at this pace. Just as long as they run out of ‘industrial’ challenges also.They know our players want to avoid any injury so they are playing on that.
Also they are winning too much ball in midfield – over to you Ronny. Best way to counter this is to get another early goal or two and knock the wind out of them.
We need to get out foot on the ball and try to find the good through pass – this pitch is a tattie field compared to ours.
Decent 1st half i’d be surprised if the sainty’s have any energy left for the 2nd half.

Our midfield is being matched today . Need to up our game in the second half .
Great and patchily quite impressive. Saints stronger than any recent opponent but I would expect our superior fitness and skill to ease us to victory. Be glad to get that second goal though.

Decent first half but St J got back into the game because they are battling well.
A few sloppy passes when in possession but like most away games the condition of the pitch hinders our game.
A little concerned at the amount of joy they are getting down our flanks exposing Virgil and Jason.
We are the better team and their keeper made a couple of good saves.
Game on second half and we just need to regroup and play our game and we will coast this.

Fans a class act as usual.
As good as the midfield has been lately they’ve struggled today.
Credit St Johnstone they’ve closed down well, while Johansen, Bitton & Brown to a lesser extent, have been waiting for the ball to come to them instead of going towards the ball. We are playing at a great tempo in the final third with GMS our best player by a country mile. Just needed a bit more class and composure from Griffith to have been 2 or 3 to the good.
Hopefully the midfield take better control of the second half and this will become more comfortable.

Very good game to watch. Saints playing well and working our defence. Some of our passing play is superb to watch. Brilliant pass by Bitton and composed finish by Griffiths for our goal. Good performances throughout the team and our two new players showing up well.
HT St J 0-1 Celtic
The Bhoys are clearly the better team but the game is not over. St J putting up a good challenge, although have rarely threatened Craig’s goal. Celtic on the other hand have had 4 or 5 good chances but similar to recent weeks we have failed to find the net. After a great start I was expecting us to run away with it. Biton picked up the ball in his own half and split the defense with a brilliant ball into Griff’s path. Griff didn’t have to break stride and went through to slot the ball under the keeper.
Midfield looking solid with Biton, Broonie and Johansen all playing well. Armstrong looks comfortable on the ball and GMS looks to have a goal threat in his when moving forward. Griff has got himself into great positions and could have had a hat trick.
Defensively, Denayer and VVD are really difficult to penetrate for S J forwards. Denayer in particular is a great defender. VVD’s speed has allowed him to clean up anything that gets behind us. Full backs need to do a bit more second half, particularly Mathews who looks a bit out of sorts.
Another goal will hopefully open the flood gates. Would like to see us getting a few second half. No injuries please
