LOGAN BAILLY was a low-key £250,000 signing in July 2015 as back-up keeper to Craig Gordon.

Ronny Deila was searching for a new deputy netminder to the Scotland international after the release of Polish star Lukasz Zaluska.

Bailly caught the Norwegian’s eye and he was duly signed from Belgian outfit Oh Leuven. First-team opportunities were few a far between such was the outstanding form of Gordon who made a remarkable comeback after his career-threatening injury.

SAFE HANDS…Logan Bailly during one of his rare first-team appearances.

The Belgian made only three starts in the top side and was heading through the Parkhead exit after Brendan Rodgers succeeded Deila in the dug-out.

The Irishman brought in his former Swansea City shotstopper Dorus de Vries and Bailly was released in July 2017.

He returned to his homeland to see out his career at Mouscron.

Later in life, Bailly reflected: “My two seasons at the club were pure pleasure. Celtic are the best team I have played for.”
